turn the bluetooth feature on the phone on, power up the headset, it should be solid blue. Then tell the phone to pair (or find devices). There are video instructions on pairing Motorola headset to the phone on www.HandBookLive.com under Electronics category. Example are for Motorola and Nokia phones. Even if you have a different phone it should give the general idea as to what the pattern is that you need to follow.

Try pressing both volume buttons at the same time to "unmute" the call. Not sure if that's the problem... There are video intstructions for H710 Motorola headset on www.HandBookLive.com under Electronics. And the Quick Start video chapter has Mute/Unmute instruction. No idea if that's exactly your problem... I always assumed that when you mute they can't hear you, and you can't hear them, but maybe that's just a strange "mute" function that you are experiencing.

Also try pairing your phone to headset again. There are actually 2 chapters on pairing on www.HandBookLive.com if you don't remember how to do it. They are not for Blackberry phone (motorola and nokia phones) but it should give you a general pattern to follow.

Pairing H710 to a computer

I've been trying to pair my H710 to my laptop to use with Skype, but I can't get it to pair with the headset. It gets as far as asking for the passkey, I enter it, the headset flashes purple and blue, then it goes solid red for a few seconds, then I get an error on my laptop that the connection failed.

I've been able to pair it with my blackberry pearl and my PS3. I'm wondering if it's refusing to pair because it has two devices paired to it already. Do I need to wipe out all the pairing info on headset, or should it just pair and wipe out one of the devices when I try a third device? Does this headset not work with computers/laptops?

Well. This is probably not a solution you guys want to hear, but it just worked. I left it for months, maybe it was just the time, or a recharge needed to wipe out one of the paired devices in memory, but it just paired with my laptop like that. Used it for while too with Skype.

I am also using the new Windows Seven RC this time around, maybe it was a Beta issue, that got fixed with the RC.

if you didn't pair your phone up yet, that could be why. Hold all 3 buttons down for 10 sec. should go solid blue, then pair your phone cause its in discovery.

Your headset may be muted. Try to unmute the call. The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

Motorola H710 Bluetooth Headset will not turn on!

I charged the bluetooth over night, and the indicator was green, but when I open the boom to turn it on, the indicator doesn't light up or turn blue.

I have the exact same problem with my Motorola H710 Bluetooth Headset. When I charge the headset a green light is displayed. After the charge is complete I unplug the headset and NO light is displayed. I flip open the boom and NO light is displayed. I hold the call button for 10 secs or 10 mins or 10 hours and NO light is displayed. There is suppose to be a blue light displayed to indicate that the headset is ON. Since there is NO light displaying that means the headset is OFF. So my headset DOES NOT TURN ON! I did my research no where online can anyone give a solution. All the above solutions given does not help because the blue light DOES NOT turn on. No user guide or customer service rep or tech support can help that is what I found out. So I guess I will toss my headset in the garbage!
