Have a VCS4000, electric start will not spark.

Since you have replaced the batteries, you now have to check the wires for shorts and the electrodes for a cracked/broken ceramic jacket. The gap may be to large between the electrode and the collector box or burner also.

Get some rust remover from an auto store and lots of elbow grease. If results are poor, take it to the scrap yard and get another one which is not rusty.
