Worst product I ever bought switch broke within 1 week, used twice and Teefal/Currys were about as helpful as an unhelpful thing.

Anyhow got a switch from from CPC www.cpc.co.uk PN: SW02922 Desc: Switch, rocker, spst, red, 250VAC £1.20 each.

Fitted works like a dream and seems a lot sturdier than the cheap one supplied with the unit.

Hope this helps others. Never buy another Teefal product!

it would seem it drawing to much power from the socket have the wireing to your socket checked out,if the power cord is not damaged,cut the dord back 3 inches from plug and fit new plug

i think the red ones are power in and power out and the blue one is ground get a test light and find out witch wire is power then plug it in turn switch on and test witch leg the power is comeing from and go from there

Usually nowhere. On a standard 2 or 4 slice toaster the elements come as a one piece cassette. Very difficult to replace. I have one in my garage. I bought it and then opened up the toaster, there are about 20 SOLDERED connections!! I bought a new toaster. I guess what you mean is your steam generator is tripping one of the breakers in your consumer unit. If it is the RCD it means current is leaking to ground. If it is an MCB it means there is a short circuit or overload. Both conditions mean the unit needs some serious looking at and with a portable appliance it is worth checking the power cord and plug for damage or loose wiring, however steam generators of various types and steam irons that these days the manufacturers claim can be used with tap water (straight from the faucet) can still suffer from limescale problems in hard water areas. Water dumps it's mineral content at 140 degrees F. Scale build up on the heating element will tend to break away due to the expansion as it heats but stubborn bits will remain tending to cause hotspots and uneven heating and uneven expansion hastening element failure. That might be your problem and a multimeter won't always find it. Sometimes there is visible evidence and sometimes it needs a test with a Megger. Of course it might be something else...

I had the same problem and phoned Tefal customer services. Underneath the top plate, in the bottom left hand corner, there is a small button. This is actually the quickness sensor, and if you clean this it should resolve your problem.
