Top 20 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170 Digital Camera Questions & Answers

The resolution of the photo you take determines how grain shows up as you zoom into the Photo, So taking a 10 megapixel photo on optical zoom or no zoom will give you a sharper picture than when you use both the optical and digital zoom to grab your picture. The digital zoom uses the centre of your CCD picture imager rather than the whole CCD so with less elements to your picture when you take it gives you blockiness sooner when you zoom in on the image. I am guessing your friend has digital Zoom turned off in settings to prevent the Graining showing upon magnification. Good light and a steady camera will give you the best results.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I have had success with this camera photo recovery software... Download the program
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Since your further photos and videos almost certainly overwrote the original photos and videos, you don't have a very good chance of recovering them. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the memory card into a card reader attached to your computer, cross your fingers, and run the program.

I don't know what the question is here. Did someone forget to post it? All I've heard about prostate supplements is that a few consider Super Beta Prostate to be a scam while others would swear by it. I know that it is a clinically researched supplement that contains effective amounts of beta-sitosterol and a dozen other beneficial nutrients for the body.

Its quite easy just remove the Memory card from the Cyber shot

put it into the card reader and connect with your PC and simply copy and paste the images from card to PC.

You can also connect the Cyber shot directly to the PC using the USB data cable given with the Camera. When you do this a new drive will appear in My Computer now just copy the images from that new drive to anywhere in PC

Hi there:
If the camera has recently been dropped it may have lens damage that is preventing it from powering up. There are a number of ways with which a lens error can be caused. Particulates might have managed to get into the mechanical bits that allow the lens to retract, a purely physical interference with the lens mechanism. If the camera was dropped, especially while the lens was extended, there's a pretty good chance something might have been knocked loose, such as the guide pins upon which the lens withdraws and retracts.

Additional details could find in this article link: fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

In the shooting mode press cursor-right repeatedly to cycle through the various flash modes. To turn off the flash choose the lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it. Full details are in the "Flash (Selecting a flash mode for still images)" section of the Cyber-shot handbook (page 26 in my copy). If you need the handbook and/or the manual you may download them from here.

This sounds like symptoms of a lens error. Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them.
