Canon DC10 DVD Camcorders Copyright 2006 Gardner-Webb University Page 1 of 4 Canon DC10 DVD Camcorder Overview of features: Uses 3” (Mini) DVD discs – can use DVD-R or DVD-RW o   DVD-R ÿ  can be recorded only once (you cannot edit or delete the recordings) o   DVD-RW ÿ  can be recorded to many times (you can delete scenes or initialize the disc and start recording again) ÿ  can be finalized to VIDEO mode where it will play in most common DVD players (finalizing is a process required to make the DVD discs you recorded in VIDEO mode playable on common DVD players ÿ  or it can be left in VIDEO RECORDING mode where the recordings can be edited but you can only play the disc with DVD-RW compatible players Record directly to disc o   You do not need to spend time fast forwarding or rewinding to find an empty space on the disc.  This is automatically done, so you don’t have to worry about mistakenly recording over something previously recorded. Locate scenes without needing to fast forward or rewind o   A finalized disc will display an index, so you can easily locate the scene (or segment) you want Create playlists of your favorite scenes (available only with DVD-RWs recorded in VR mode) o   Change the order in which the scenes you recorded will be played back o   Perform quick editing tasks on the cameras - edit the scenes including only the best parts and cutting out the rest without affecting your original records     10x optical zoom – image stabilizer Dolby digital 2-channel audio Menu system
