No, Deep Fryers are dangerous so cords are kept purposely short to prevent accidents. Also 1800 watts draws a lot of amps, so extending the cable can cause the cable to heat up. Move the fryer to an outlet, or have a new outlet installed where you want the fryer. Your island would benefit from extra built in sockets.

I have a dual basket 12 Qr fryer had taken out of the box to use it.Plug it in and the light won't come on.The reset is set.

It is probably safe. But why not load up one time with new oil and cook a load of french fries, and then throw the oil and fries away, just to make sure.

WAIT! Do not add any oil or butter. I don't know what kind of machine you have, but only POPCORN goes inside the Popcornnow. I have an old one that melts butter on the top cover, although I don't recommend that. I recommend butter in the microwave. Repeat: DO NOT ADD OIL where the popcorn goes or you will set a fire.

Does your popper have a butter melting cup at the top? (The one we had years ago did.) Remove that cup from the popper and fill it with the unpopped kernels. (Fill loosely to level with the rim of the cup or less. Do not pack the kernels into the cup or overfill.) Then pour the kernels into the poppiing chamber. There should also be a fill line inside the popping chamber that indicates the maximum amount of popcorn to put in the chamber. Then put the measuring cup/butter melter back on the top of the popper.

The difference between the two models is styling. Both use the same temperature contol. Temperature settings are in degrees. The warranty covers the non-stick surface, but misuse or abuse will void the warranty. Normal household use will not affect the surface.

Fom what I saw online,you need a disc that you can buy seperate-online from wallmart--presto replacement powercup concentrator # 09964. Put the cardboard disc on bottom.either with a little oil or not, add !/3 cup popcorn and put top on. Microwave for 2-21/2inutes. You can reuse the disc a few times till it turns brown. I got on of these poppers at a yard sale. Its missing the bottom, but works o.k. Enjoy
