You need to install a electrical noise filter in the power supply wires to the device (both of them), u can buy a kit(s) to do this at any radio shack, they can also explain the installation, it goes in series with the voltage feed wire to the radio. here is an on-line source. also read the article at the link below.

5 AMPS would be more then you need. 3 Amps would run it ok. I would go with the 5. But do not, DO NOT, sorry for stressing this but you will ruin your radio if you do go any higher then 5 amps
