Both parts can be found in Home Depot or similar. Clean and reassemble with some Vaseline for lubrication. It may be the pivot arm. That is the neck on the power head that the wands connect into. The way to check that is by putting the handle directly into the neck and with it running, move handle back and forth forward and backwards to see if it has a short in the hose part of neck

you need to hold the seperator to keep the whole thing from spinning, then get a pair of pliers and turn the nut counter clockwise.

check for a clog in the hose...most likely down by the hose/power nozzle connection
