The computer sees the scan

You probably have the habit of unplugging it without using Windows USB removal tool, and you probably corrupted the FAT (File Allocation Table) plug it in than when the drive appears under MY COMPUTER, right click the DRIVE, than go to properties, select TOOLS than perform a CHECK of the drive, if all is good than each time you want to remove it USE THE REMOVE OPTION by clicking on the USB icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the task bar) and than select SAFELY REMOVE DEVICE, when a (YOU CAN SAFELY REMOVE) window appears, THAN YOU CAN REMOVE IT, this procedure will save you a lot of headaches... If the drive check is not successful you can always use FILE SCAVENGER to recover the data, than perform a complete re-format...

Good luck!

How do I use a memory stick

It is plug in play, so usually no need for software. Go to My Computer and once you've connected the usb flash drive, a new drive will come up in there. You double click into it and you can copy files over. That's it. :)

Hope this helps!

Sandisk cruzer 8gb suddenly not

1. Try the other USB slots to see it the board is ok. Most modern pcs have two slots in the front and two to four slots in the back, try them all.

2. Do you have another pc that you can plug it into? If it works on that one you may have driver problem or the board is bad on the other one.

3. Have you tried to plug other USB devices into the slot(s) to see if the port is ok?

I have the same one and have had to mess it sometimes. Have to right clicked the "Safely Remove Hardware" in the right corner of the task bar. Right click and then left click the Safely Remove Hardware. That will show you all USB devices loaded. If you see the Flash Drive, click it and when you see the next prompt to remove it wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. If that does not work, reboot and leave the Flash Drive plugged in and see if it loads when the pc fully is loaded.

4. Goto the Control Panel> System > Hardware > Device Manager. Look for your drive in the list of Disk Drives. Pick it and then pick the Action Menu and Scan for hardware changes. If the Flash Drive is working properly you should not see any errors. You should also be able to see the drive in explorer.

5. If you still do not see the Flash Drive in explorer but you do see it in Device Manager, right click it in Device Manger and unstall it and reboot and let windows search and reinstall the device drives.

Good luck and post back.

I have a really old computer and I put my flash

Some Flash Drives don't come with an "autorun" installed in it, if you have a Windows 7 Operative System, it might be installing the driver for it. If it's already installed, go to your computer menu and check if the drive shows up there (In the "removable drives/devices" area). If it doesn't show up, try plugin it in another USB port, your port might be the on not working.

I have SanDisk Cruzer micro

Most likey yes. If you have been using the thumb drive frequesntly and with large volumes of data or as a live boot USB then yes. As these devices are used they can wear out just like a hard drive. These devices though are not built to handle it as well as a hard drive. You could say they are a lot like VHS and cassette tapes.
