Reformatting my Insignia Pilot 4GB mp3

Most MP3 players have their own CD that came with the device. That should carry the stock firmware of your MP3. You need to connect the device to a computer and then load the CD. Through the instruction manual, you will have an idea on how you can re-flash the firmware.

If you're not so sure about it, you may contact the manufacturer and ask them for the latest firmware version that your device should be back to normal.

Will not show up on comp. or charge

Most likely the device has had damage done to it either from being dropped, not being ejected properly from the computer or liquid damage. It's corrupt from what you've explained and now it not turning on tells me that it's pretty much gone. I advise looking into getting a new MP3 player.

Hi,
How long have you owned the unit? How long have you had this problem? Also the screen going blank when you are listening is to save the battery life. If all the functions still work and the screen comes back when you hit a button then everything should be fine. If you need any other assistance please let me know.
Thank you,

The thing that happened to your Insignia is this and this only . The little piece that converts/ connects your battery to your MP3 is broken . Now , what happens is when you put it in an outlet theres enough power to just flow through and power your MP3 . Now , what to do about it . I know that Inisgnia DOES NOT sell any MP3s anymore , sadly . Im not sure if they have or have not stopped servicing them , though . I have an 8 GB Pilot myself . Its a great MP3 , especially because of the expandable memory , the dual audio jack , and the FM Tuner . But yea , thats what happened . If Insignia has stopped servicing them , you could buy another from 3rd party dealers , or just buy a completely new brand of MP3 . Hope this helps !

Can't pair bluetooth headphones with Insignia Pilot MP3 player

the directions from Samsung to pair the headset was way off. You need to hold down the main button then turn on the headset. Only then will the headset go into pairing mode by maintaining a solid blue light. It took me a couple of days of troubleshooting and experimenting to realize this pairing method. I just hope that this problem is only due to my headset because I assume a lot of people who buy this headset and try out Samsung's directions will become very frustrated. I almost returned the product and I am sure many others would too.
