How to recover data of Memory stick without formatting?

As your description, I think your memory stick is error which may cause by virus attack or partition corrupted. It won't hurt to try to plug the stick to another computer and see whether this case happan again,if it does, besides you can use the chdsk tool in windows to fix the error, However if you can not fix it ,you should recover the data from memory stick firstly, know more here: Memory Stick Recovery

Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can seehttp://www.asoftech.com/adr/It tells the steps how to perform data recovery. If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

Memory Stick Duo 512MB. Where

First make sure the card is not locked. Do this by checking on the side of the card that the lock notch is not in the locked position. If it is not locked then you should put the card in your computer and reformat it. If this isn't successful then its time to go get a new card. You can get a new one for under $20.

My Sony memory stick pro

Some Sony Cybershot camera's have a small amount of memory built into the camera. Double check that the camera is set to put the pictures onto the memory stick.
If the camera is set up correctly, the memory stick may not be formatted correctly for your computer. If at all possible, connect the camera to your computer directly with the USB cable that should have come with it.
