I had a cracked Solaire infared burner and repaired the crack with Bondo. So far so good, but I don't know how long it will last

The hiss is from the reg when the pressure equalizes on both sides of the diaphram with the pressure coming out of the breather hole . So check the reg .

After reviewing the Owners Manual for your grill, I see it has only 2- burners and possibly electronic ignition and an optional side burner (if you have the kicked up model). This grill is not difficult to operate, as it only has 2-burners, which translated into 2- burner knobs, which control the lighting of the burners and the flame height adjustment, once the burner(s) are lit.

But, as they say, "One picture is worth a thousand words". So I am providing a link to your model grill, that not only has the Owners Manual link, but also links on how to use, operate and cook on a gas grill. In fact, there are a couple of videos you might find of interest.

The problem lies partially with the tank valve and the way it was turned ON.

To solve this problem, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Actually, I don't think all the parts you'll need are still available for that model, as it has been discontinued. However, some parts like burners, ignitors, grease drain tray, etc are still available. None of the body parts are. Besides, if you could find them, the cost for all the necessary parts would cost you almost as much as a new grill. Not sure you'd really gain anything. At least with a new grill, you would have a new warranty.

You'll need to remove the burners and make certain there's no debis blocking the holes. Dirt, rust and spider webs are common obstruction and need to be cleared away. Also make sure gas feed tube is firmly seated to burner.

after you turn on the tank let it sit2/3 mins.before you lite it this gives the regulator time to adjust propper...thumbs up

Ordered part from manufacturer. Help was in the form of being able to download the assembly manual and identify the part number for the electrode (my original manual was missing). The part list for the grill listed two electrodes? and was confusing.

You not only have to have the correct thread size, you also have to have the correct orifice size. The size of the orifice varies from grill to grill which is why "universal kits" don't work on all grills. You will have to contact the manufacturer and get the correct orifice size, or get the orifices from the manufacturer. If you need help, let me know.

I';m sure everyone thinks they are giving good advice, but READ THE SYMPTOMS. The guy says his ignitor doesn't "click" anymore. And most of you tell him he needs a new gas regulator. Fix his problem, don't create new ones. He needs his ignitor fixed. Maybe just a new battery? Or maybe the whole ignitor unit But certainly not a new regulator, etc, etc.
