It means that your printer is working fine but there are some settings conflict which makes problem to print your documents.

So try uninstalling all the drivers and softwares related to your printer and reinstall them using the cd which came along with your device to resolve the problem.

You sometimes have to do it manually. What I mean is is will stop you after is prints the first side and you have to than put the paper back into the paper tra and then press ok to the box that should pop up. If the box does not pop up, then I don;t know.

mostly yes, the sensor is what is responsible for paper alignment. how ever you can try keeping an a4 size as all the printers tend to adopt default settings and work with it. place your paper correctly in position and then you can select the a4 and try printing a page.

these cartridges are not realy designed to be re filled, cartridges need to be filled under vacume to work properly or its hit & miss as to whether they work or not, i would recommend you buy some compatibles localy or on the internet they are very cheap.

I would recommend buying a Printer parallel port connection (PCI to LTP1), install it into the system, and use the printer parallel cable.
