How to fix Frigidaire GLER341A hums and vibrates when hot?

A loose or worn BELT can make funny noises Or the idler pulley that puts tension on the dryer drum drive belt could be worn out. If the pulley is bad we recommend also replacing the belt. The glides on drum worn and making metal to metal contact. The drum slides or glides support the front of the drum. As the drum rotates over the years, the glides wear out and then the dryer makes noise. Replace all of the glides as a set if they are worn out. CHECK FOR LOOSE BELLOES inside the drum Sometimes an item can get stuck inbetween the drum and the housing and scrape and grind making funny noises, things like coins, bra wire, nails, hair pins, etc sometimes u can just remove the cabinet and observe by turning the drum by hand or looking for scratch or scrape marks on housing. The blower: Clumps of lint, socks, and other small articles of clothing can get past the lint filter and into the blower wheel. If the dryer makes noise, and the noise seems to be at a very fast pace, there might be something caught in the blower wheel. In addition, the blower wheel sleeve might be worn out, allowing the blower wheel to wobble on the motor shaft. If this happens, replace the blower wheel. The bearings: The drum bearing supports the rear of the dryer drum. If the dryer makes noise this bearing might be worn out. Replace the bearing if it is worn out. Do not lubricate the bearing, the lubrication will attract lint and dirt and accelerate the wearing process. The bearings TEST by moving drum by hand u may be able to feel loose or rough movement. And listen to sounds when turning it. The drum rollers or castors: It is very common for dryer drum rollers to wear out. If the dryer makes noise, particularly a loud rumbling noise, one or more of the rollers may be worn out. After removing the drum from the dryer, inspect the rollers. Check for cracks, dryness, or damage and not engaging drum properly. Sometimes u can use high density LITHIUM BASE gear grease to re oil/grease them.

De 407 maytag dryer how do i find a wiring diagram

the Maytag dryers would have the diagram either INSIDE the control panel, OR on the back of the control panel. Neither are color coded as there never was a color coded diagram ever printed. The diagrams do list the color of wires and show where they start and terminate. That is all a service tech would require to troubleshoot. If the diagram has been removed, you could try an online search.

Dryer squeeks very loud. Still drys but noice is very schrill.

Good Morning Friend, I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# GLER341A, is drying, but is making a very shrill and loud squeaking sound. There could be several possibilities that might be causing this sound. Please make sure your dryer is level. Check from side to side, front to back, and corner to corner. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

My dryer is smoking and making a noise

This is not good and should be disconnected from power source until problem resolved. It sounds like an accumulation of lint in the dryer base, where motor / belt compartment are located. Vacuuming all the lint from inside the cabinet will reduce the risk of a lint fire. Cleaning the exhaust / vent hose all the way through to the outside of building will allow better air flow. I have used a leaf blower to do this. Disconnect the dryer hose from the back of the dryer, and insert the leaf blower nozzle. Secure hose to leaf blower nozzle as best you can so it is air tight. Switch on the leaf blower for half a minute or so. Any accumulated lint in the dryer vent line will be discharged to the outside of building. Reconnect dryer hose to dryer and test to see if clothes are now drying faster.

Dryer stoped working and will not start back up

Hi David BarrALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.Sounds like your problem may be a broken belt, or the belt may have slipped off of the motor pulley, or idler arm pulley, faulty capacitor, or a faulty motor.Note: This method works for most front loading machines. If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place, some seals are furnished with the cement to glue it in place.Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer if necessary. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections. Remove the lint filter and the two screws that hold the filter housing to the top of the dryer lid. Then remove the top of the dryer by inserting a screwdriver between the top and frame on each side of the dryer to pop the lid up from the retaining clips.Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards on a type of hinge and do not have to be removed completly.Remove the front of the machine by disconnecting the door switch and removing the two screws located on either side of the dryer frame.Move the door and front of machine forward to remove. This will expose the belt, idler bracket and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.Note:The way the belt goes back on is, as the belt comes off the drum has to be doubled (pushed together to form a loop) and goes under the idler pulley then to the motor pulley. Here is a link to see a picture of your belt routing in case the belt is broken when you open your dryer:http://www.expertappliance.com/dryerbeltconfiguration.html While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you remove and lubricate the drum rollers. And also clean the shafts of the rollers as they will collect hair, dust, etc and cause problems and then lubricate the shafts and rollers with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil or a vasoline type of lubricant. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting dry and making a squeeling noise, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them. Please take time to rate me Bud

High-pitched squeaking during operation

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers may be in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.
If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Also remove the screws holding the lint filter in place.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

My frigidaire dryer model number

Hi kmcgilvery...
That burning smell is probably a lint build up in the blower system of the dryer.
You will need to remove the back of the dryer and look for the vent tubing going to the hose connected to the outside. Once you find the tubing then disassemble and clean the tubing and blower wheel of dust...then clean your flexible vent tubing you have attached to the back of the dryer.
