Sharp XR-11XC DLP Projector Questions & Answers
Turn on optoma 605 R light flashes but wont stay on fan is running fine.
The problem is: Bulbs wear out. Especially projector bulbs. The operate at high temperature and the filaments break down in time. When they are intermittent (on/off) the filament expands and contracts, and at some point disconnect entirely. It is time to replace the lamp with a new one.
Unlock Sharp XR-10X-L Notevision Proj. says keylock function on
According to pg. 45 in the owner's manual, you turn Keylock function ON by holding down the ENTER key on the projector for about 5 seconds while the projector is being turned on. To take the Keylock off-- Hold down the ENTER key on the projector for about 5 seconds. If the projector is in standby mode, you can release the keylock by holding down ENTER and STANDBY/ON keys simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
I have a Sharp XR-11xc and my bulb recently burned
I have the exact same problem. I've only reset the counter once though. It worked great at first, but seems to be getting worse. It's like it tries to start, just doesn't light up (maybe not warm enough???) then retries like 5 times until switching to the red light. Unplug and retry.... and eventually it does come on, and once on, all is ok.
Is this just the projector trying to slowly 'break in' the new bulb since it has almost no hours?
Newer lamp not workering
I don't think that resetting the lamp is the problem if you have had it in there for a few months already. This lamp is rated for 2000 hours. That is abaout 1 year if you use it about 5 or 6 hours a day. If you don't use it that much you should get close to 2 years. There are a variety of factors that will reduce the life of your lamp. Do you let the fan continue to run after the projector is turned off? If not, you will see about half of the regular life. Are the filters clean? You can use a vacuum or rinse out foam filters to clean out the dirt and dust. The lamp needs good air circulation to cool evenly. Are the vents blocked or close to another componant? I'm pretty sure that you just need another lamp. If the lamp was purchased more then 4 months ago, you are probably out of warranty. You can save yourself some money if you buy the bare bulb and replace it in the old cartridge. It looks like the complete lamp module from Sharp runs around 295.00 but the usually have a bare bulb available. We supply a variety of brands fior each projector. Replaced bulb but now won't light up
The pop you heard was not likely the lamp but a part in either the main power supply or the ballast. This is not a DIY repair. I would suggest that you get a repair estimate from a local service shop. My first inclination is that the ballast has failed.
The ballast is part number: DSETUD147FMF9
Total cost: $285 with a core of $120. This means that upon the return of the "bad" ballast, you will be refunded $120 making hte final cost $165 for the part.
Hope this helps,
Dan
Will not turn back on
Try cleaning the fan and and grill. DO NOT TOUCH LAMP. Make sure the
vents are not blocked and bottom is on hard surface. It should turn on when the
safety fuse cools.
