This is a classic sign of dead memory modules. Time to replace the memory sticks. You can replace it yourself or take the notebook to a computer shop or Geek Squad, if that is in your area. It will probably cost around $100 for the new parts and service.

No Right Click on mouse-pad

you will have to get a new touch-pad for this laptop, repairing laptop parts one self is pretty risky- or use a small external mini-usb mouse.
(cheaper option)
make sure your laptop supports usb2.0.
u may think about getting an external usb hub to enlarge the number of usb ports available, when doing so get one with external power supply, else you'll face problems as the internal power supply cannot support more than the usb-ports your laptop originally holds. i had one without and use with a pc only.

good luck

The file number 1 has invalid format

You Could:

1) Check that your DVD reader is working (use another disk).
2) Check the region code for the disk (most likely reason).
3) Take it to the shop you brought it from.

Hp compaq 6720s

Hi,

Check the display on External monitor, if the external monitor works fine, it could be an issue with the LCD and controller for the system board, better to replace the LCD.

but before that just be in a safer side.

Update graphics driver and new version of BIOS from Hp.com

Attempting to remove the switch cover but the side

This is the second time I have responded to this question and hope that this time it is recorded.

1st. I don't know which switch cover you are in question of.
2nd. The only switch cover is the panel where you'll find the Led's or the Touch Panel.
3rd. If this is the panel in which you are asking, let go on. ( If not let's not)
4th. Disconnect all power to unit.
5th. Remove the battery and any media you may have in the unit.
6th. Lay unit on its back (lable up, where it can be seen)

Their are 2- Covers which can be removed. Not knowing why yo want to remove the cover, does not help. So, I will explain how to remove the Touch Led Cover.
7th. With unit on its back and Lable facing you. Please find the first row of rex screws on top of battery Bank. You will see six but only 4 of the six need to be removed.
From left to right 1st screw Yes, second screw NO, third Yes, fourth Yes, fifth NO, six Yes.
The two screws remaining are for the LCD hanging and you don't need to remove them.
8th. Know that you have removed the top set, you can remove the next set,
which are silver and cant be missed.Remove these 3-Silver screws and flip unit over.
Open the cover and before you attempt to remove this cover, you should know of 3- items underneath which are very fragile.
Their are 2-Ribbon cables (12pin) and 1 Mic cable
With your hands on both sides you should be able to lift cover upwards, allowing it to fall over towards you.
9th. You will see 1 4-pin black plug and 2 12 pin ribbon cable connectors.
My advise is to treat this area like it was eggs on grass.
To completely remove these 3 connections
1. disconnect black 4-pin connector
2. Their is a thin plastic brown clip on the top of the connector, which lifts up only about 5 mm
which isn't much!
Remove the two ribbon cables and you are their.
Re-assumable the reverse.
Hope this finds you in good health, in mind and computer.

When you say turning on and off all the time until I disconnect the charger, IS the charger running the machine and then after so long cutting out? you leave it and it works , if so its overheating

Machine will need fan and all ducts cleaning and most likely replace arctic silver on psu

IF on the other hand its not running more likely the charger is not powering the machine or charging battery in which case you will need new charger

hope this helps get back to me if you need more help
