If you have a recovery partition, when computer boots hit "alt-F10" during boot. If you do not have a recovery partition, insert recover CD's prior to booting and it should go through it.

Even thou the 5520 is Bluetooth Capable, It does not come with the device itself unless ordered that way.You can purchase a blue tooth card for it at any computer store.

it looks like it is a motherboard problem. check if your system will boot to safe mode by tapping F8 as soon as you turn on the computer.

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to

cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)

1. operating system
2. the exact problem
3. who tells you that u need a dvd decoder.. ..and for what ?

remove any cd or dvd from the rom drive and chek the booting sequnce in bios. reinstall the operating system if you fail .

You have to install web cam driver to get it working. Driver usually provided by acer.

Hello Robby, hi, you have no other option but to reformat your laptop hard drive and install another copy of windows, trying all those option creates headaches, just reformat the drive. But make sure you back up your files, or other important documents. you can remove the hard drive thru an access panel under the laptop. the hard drive is compatible to sata, so you can connect it on a PC (visit a friend with a PC if you have no PC), after connecting it to the PC back up your files. replace the HD to the laptop and perform the format. after the windows installation replace your files back to the acer.

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key
& keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on
the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical
support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

it's fell asleep,switch it then the minute you've hit the power button start tapping the F2 key unit you get into the bios settings.
in there you will see a set of tabs across the top the last one being "EXIT" useing the arrow keys go to exit
hit ENTER then move down to GET DEFAULT VALUES/SETTINGS or LOAD DEFAULT VALUES/SETTINGS
Which ever & hit ENTER select yes then hit Enter again then move back up to exit saving changes or
save & exit the computer will shut down & reboot.

Have you installed the drivers for it? does it have a bluetooth button/switch if so when you press it ,it should
come up on the screen in green writting "device enabled or disabled.

There is a Wireless Button on this laptop which is located just below the power button which would have a symbol of a Satellite , Press it and turn it ON .

we need a little more information about what is happening to the internet

It seems that some critical windows system files have got corrupted and the 'rocket' seems to be an add on used to change the windows interface to look like vista or windows 7. The only way to recover will be to use the original OS CD/DVD to boot up your computer and use the repair &/or reinstall option. This leaves all programs & data intact, i.e. as it was, but just replace the original system files.
