There are many ways to backup your hard drive. If you are on 10.5 or greater, you can use Time Machine. You do this by going into the System Preferences, choose Time Machine, select your G-DRIVE Mini as the backup disk, and turn on Time Machine. The computer will then backup your data on a regular basis. If you are using an older OS or do not want to use Time Machine, then you can backup by doing drag and drop or copy and paste the files from your Mac to your G-DRIVE Mini.

follow these steps...
1) Open Computer
2) Right click on G:/
3) Click "Properties"
4) In Properties window, click tab labeled "Security"
5) Highlight "Authenticated Users"
6) Click "Edit" button *New pop-up window will open
7) Check the box "Full Control"
8) Click "Apply"
9) Click "Ok"
Repeat process for any User that needs to have access including "SYSTEM" and "Administrators"

Backup copying seems at a standstill
Okay Ive got the solution for you you. You need to reformatt the harddrive initially and then when you copy your 10Gb of data you need to split it up and copy it in smaller portions, because what is causing you problems is damaged or corrupted data files that you are trying to move and the system cannot copy them. by copying your files in smaller bundles lets say 1gb or 2gbs at a time you should be able to isolate the problematic files. this method also helps to avoid congestion in your buffers and processor. thanks

There are several ways to get Visio for cheap. If you are a student, there are discounted versions available online and in stores. Also, you can check with your school for even cheaper options sometimes. Try the university bookstore if available. Or a Computer Science department maybe.
