Iomega Silver Series 320GB 3.5 External - 7200, 8MB, USB 2.0 320 GB Hard Drive - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My iomega is not showing up on my laptop?
The best USB ports to use are usually the rear ones.sometimes the bios keeps account of the number of connections and then refuses to recognise.if this is the case then you could try going into bios and switching off USB restart and switch it back on to clear the count. Or yes a different USB cable as these can sometimes create read errors.
Raw drive
Did you partition it first? It needs to be partitioned before you can format it. (Sorry if you already knew that)
Where can i buy electric 12v adapter
Understanding that you lost your power adapter for the external device you can easily do the following:
1) Check the documentation of the device to confirm it is really 12V DC.
2) Check the amperage specified in the documentation (for example, 1.0 mA) ;
3) Check the polarity (normally indicated in the device, such as positive in the center pin, or otherwise).
4) Check the size of the connector.
5) with all the information at hand go to your local electronic supplier shop (such as RadioShack, or another) and request for a power adapter with those characteristics. Take the device with you to make sure the connector will fit correctly and that the polarity and other information do match
Note: make sure the new adapter has the same capacity (or a little bit higher) than the milliamps (mA) indicated in the documentation or the label at the device.
That's it! You will be rocking!
Good luck!

IS there any sound on the drive if no try to check if the problem is with the case or the drive you can remove the drive from the case and directly connect to a system using data cable.
if does not have a data type connector on the drive than you have to try different case supporting the connector on the drive.
could b the cable first try to change the cable and test it.

There is little point in posting a question with no real information.
Saying something is "broke", "doesn't work", "can't connect" or that you "need" or "want something" is pointless without ALL the information.
What actual products are you using? Makes, models, connections...everything about your problem is necessary. We are not there with you. We cannot see what is obvious to you. Most problems occur when you try to get something to work with something else. We need to know all the things you are using and doing that ends with your issue.
The issue is the last thing we need not the only thing.
If you did something stupid, then tell us. We aren't going to laugh at you, we want to help you. In all likelihood we did something similar and so we know if it can be fixed.
If you hope that by lying about the situation we will be able to fix your issue, you are WRONG.
If you are trying to do something illegal we know about that too.
We want to help you. We do not get paid for our work. We do it because we want to share our knowledge and help you.
If you do not post complete information, most likely your question will go unanswered, so you wasted your time and our time reading your post.
