Replace battery on mio C310 gps
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. The battery replacement in Mio C310 Gps is fairly easy. You can perform the repairs if you have the following equipments--
Tools required:
-precision screwdriver set
-wire (24 gauge or smaller)
-shrink wrap or electrical tape
-wire cutters/stripper
-multi-meter
-sharp utility knife
Please follow these steps--
- Remove
the rubber caps and two Phillips head screws at the bottom of the unit
(don’t lose the screws!) Gently pry the back off starting at the bottom
and then work your way up the sides. If you hear the sound of crunching
plastic please re-read the first word in the above sentence.
- Once
the back is loose you can pull it down and then away from the main body.
Be aware that the speaker wire will prevent complete removal of the units
back.
- Disconnect
the speaker wire plug from the main board and set the back of the unit
aside. The only thing holding the circuit board in place is the USB port.
Simply pry the bottom of the case slightly and lift out the circuit board.
There is a ribbon cable attaching the circuit board to the display so be gentle
with this.
- Six
clips (three on top and three on bottom) hold the screen in place. Pry the
top clips back slightly and remove the screen. Now you’ll be able to
remove the batteryu and install a new one.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
Thanks

I have a similar problem
That’s a tricky one, because legally you have no rights, none of the UK laws apply as the product was purchased abroad.
Similar issue with me when I purchased a Mio in China, I was thinking because Mio is the number one device in China I would be able to get the updates here, but unfortunately that was incorrect. I contacted Consumer direct and the UK law states that issues with devices need to be perused via the retailer; your sales contract is with them.
From what Mio have said that is correct, allot of sat nav companies alter software for that country, the one I purchased in China looks exactly like the ones here in the UK, but upon comparing maps and software they are completely different. I managed to get the device refunded via China, posted the device to a mate and he sorted it out for me. I now have a Mio device which I purchased in France and have no issues at all.
My mio c320 is not recognised by my laptop
check with another cable or on another pc ...
cable is normal mini usb and it should work with your cable from camera, mobile phone, card reader, etc ..
btw ... check author's www for software because lots of GPS devices are not recognized like external drive, but just through software ...
Tomtom 920t wont hold charge
the main problem is a bad connection in the battery with these units if you carefully take the back off you will see the li ion battery dust it off look closely at the connection and try to fix the gap with a good solder or piece of foil it worked for me i have gotton longer use with the unit per hour than what tom tom estimated
Black screen
This problem has happened to me before turn the gps unit over and clean off the gold colored conductors on the bottom take a paper clip and touch the 1st and 4th pins together this resets the unit be sure it is the 1st and 4th pins on the opposite side of the little power connector though.
