Do you find that if you slightly loosen your lens you hear a click or something releasing. Then when you lock the lens back into place u can see through the view finder, but only for 1 photo. Then it stays black again?

Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Has the mirror actually fallen off from the frame or is it that it is misaligned? Both, by themselves, are not serious problems. You do not need to pay much for fixing it. If the camera is not under warranty, you can get it fixed by a local (reliable) service guy. If it is under warranty, better get it fixed by an authorized service center.
A word of caution though--after the mirror is fixed, it would be a good idea to get the sensor cleaned by an expert. This is because if the mirror gets misaligned, it can, in some cases, touch the rear element of the lens and thus leave some dust in the camera.
Canon 5D won't turn on

Sent and received my Cannon EOS-5D from Canon and they replaced the power supply assembly. It had shorted out. They did not tell me why it shorted out so I'm left with the question of what is/are the event(s) that caused the power assembly to short out. I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling that the problem has been fixed.

Spots on images
spot is dust on the sensor. unfortunately, you will have to clean your sensor by yourself (it cost 30$ in a shop) There a fonction in the menu that up the mirror so you can access the sensor. very carefull. the pixel are so small that you can not see the dust but they are there!. caution, you need to put your body on a pod, have a good light to see what you make and some adapted items to clean the sensor. If not neede, avoid liquids. good luck and don't panic.
Help with Canon EOS 5D camera
when you use the full auto mode, the body take jpeg images in sRGB mode. And it create a different folder for those, but perhaps your computer is tune to get THIS folder. So when you leave the full auto mode, the 5D create a second folder for new images. Try to open directly the 5d volume on your computer (in windows, configuration panel, on a mac, it mount automatically on desktop) and go into DCIM folder. see? there is two folders, aleluia.
With fully charged battery 5D has power but will not take shots
This sounds like your release switch is faulty. I have repaired several of these 5D cameras with similar strange symptoms. Basically what happens is the first switch on you release assembly cracks and breaks thus making continuous contact. When this happens it basically locks up your camera. The solution is to replace the release switch assembly. The repair should not cost you more than $150.
Hope this helps.

7d - problem with shots remaining
Maximum for counter is 999. Counter is showing 999 because you have space available for more than 999 shots. If you've got a very large memory card it may tke quite some time to get below 999.

Top edge of my photo is a black diagonal shadow
Sounds like it could be vignetting from either a lens hood or an accessory. Are you seeing this in all photos or flash only? If flash, sometimes a wide shot with a lens hood on will block the flash output and cause the described shadow line.

Why is there nothing showing in my lcd after I turn camera on?
This is an indication that the LCD is not functioning. You haven't indicated the make and model of your camera but if it has a view finder, try taking some picture and view them in a computer. No view-finder? Just point and shoot some subjects and view then from a computer.
Are the pictures OK? If they are than you might want to maintain that style while looking for replacement parts of service tech.
