Blue screen says no signal
Look first to see if a DVD etc connected to a rear audio/video input has same issue---if not and problem is only via tuner in set--may have a bad tuner--there is of course a way around that.
Where can I get a factory remote control for a

The power supply is the problem and if you replace the bad electrolytic caps on the power supply module, or just replace the power supply.
Burning and fan type sound
That is probably the power section about to fail. The burning smell is going to be from overheating components. You will have to take it into either an akai repair depot or a local tv repair and have it looked at. Get an estimate first. The repair cost on this could be cheap if itis obvious and the repair gys are on the ball or it can be pricey if they just replace major parts (typical). Also have a good idea of what replacement cost is so you know if it is worth fixing.
AKAI 42" LCD TV TURNED
Loud hum from the speakers sounds like a bad filter capacitor on the power board; A open cap will also cause rolling lines in the picture.
If you are able I would suggest you open the set and follow the power cord to the power supply board. I am posting a photo of what typical filter caps look like; note that there are several and all have a silver metal top with creases---what you are looking for are ANY where that top is puffed up a little or a lot and or any sign of brown leakage at the top of them or at the bottom edge.
The Hum indicates a 60 cycle signal is getting past the power supply caps--hence they are also called "filter caps". They block any AC voltage or noise and can cause exactly what you are describing.
Let me know if you have any questions or need advice----I am here to help you.

How do I take off the stand? I just hung the TV.
Take the TV down. there are 4 Phillips head screws one the back bottom that hold the stand on. take them out and lift the TV off the stand and hang it back on the wall. be sure to remove the stand screws and not the screws that hold the TV together.
How do I hook up to Dish Network?
depending on the type BOX you have for it. If you have an HD Dish Box there should be an HDMI port on it. You have two on the TV. Unless you want to use Components RGB cables. That would look better than Co axial cable which is your last choice

You may have bad capacitors on the main board where the signal is processed. These caps are as labeled: c280,c323,c302 and c320- replace this one first (it usually fixes the problem) Replace these caps with 100uf @35V
AKAI 48 in. LCD HDTV with bad signal board
Option 1
The web site shopjimmy.com has tons of parts for your TV.
I looked through it and they don't have a signal board right now.
It's the best place I know to find the parts you need.
Sooner or later, they should acquire one.
Option 2
Fix the signal board.
Try to find a SERVICE MANUAL for your TV on the web. This manual will have parts list, schematics, and test points for circuit boards for your TV.
A electronic tech should have no trouble fixing it.
Good Luck
