JVC LT-47X788 47 in. LCD HDTV - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$???????

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $100

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. sounds like a blown internal fuse. unless you are savvy with a soldering iron you'll need to take it to a TV repair man. i assume its out of its warranty period?

Check the connection wire [LVDS cable] that connects LCD panel to T'Con bard for any loose contact. Re-seat it once and check.

take batterries out of remote and unplu tv for 3 to 5 minutes

you need a iverter or the display is going bad

sounds like bad inverter board

1. remove the 4 screws on the back of the TV (these are located in the deep holes above the stand)

2. after the screws are removed, the TV will lift from the stand.

The stands sits inside the TV. after the screws are removed the TV will still sit on the stand. you (and someone else) will need to lift it from the stand.

Check the video cable coming out of the xbox, depending on which model xbox it is (arcade, pro, elite etc.) it will most likely have both component cables - green, blue and red or RCA cables - Yellow, red and white. It sounds as if your JVC would only be able to run RCA cables (due to its age) so use the yellow cable for video and white and red (or just white if you only have a yellow and white input) and then make sure the switch located on the cable is switched to "standard" and not "hi definition" hope it helps. How many video ports does it have? You may have to search through video 1, 2, 3, or switch the TV itself to component/HDMI depending, with the remote. Should be with an 'input' button.

My tv has a list with HDMI, SVIDEO, COMPONENT, PC, ect. and its a 1080p one, im just assuming all HDTV's have a list

The cable connections for your TV are not connected properly or are loose or the cables might have damage or the connection ports are broken.

no info generic answer read owners manual or search online for one

it needs service, that means using tools and meters and spare parts to find cause. dead screen black screened at all times.? even in HD TV antenna mode for HD TV? or just the remote CLICKER batteries dead. tell things that work and no not work , even LED actions. the maker has no books on this old TV https://jvcproducts.com/us/contact/support.html here they are ask them>? what rare TV. good luck fixing any RARE TV. moved you to TELEVISION.

Return it to your place of purchase and get something else anything else you wouldn't believe how many people are having Issues with the LT series get rid of it.
