My washer turns some things inside out and wrings

Tying things in knots is a characteristic of older washing machines that didn't have an oscillating action. It was soon realised to avoid that the washer should oscillate or reverse the action by equal amounts and so that is what the automatic washer is designed to do. Perhaps there is something wrong with the controller or the motor and it isn't reversing properly. Laundry that is tied in knots is likely to cause the drum to be out of balance more than usual and so the tub suspension, the hoses, wiring and door seal will be subjected to more stress and that could be the reason for the mysterious leak.

Why won't my amana ntw4501xq0 top load washer not completely drain.

No spin, or lite spin try these: Using a multi meter check for continuity the door switch, which when bad may not allow agitation or spin. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Check the clutch, brake assembly and transmission, one way to check for slipping is to get under the machine after a spin cycle ( this is if u get a lil spin but not much leaving clothes still wet) mix in a spray bottle a lil water and some dish detergent, then spray it on the clutch assembly ( the metal round pc. Connected to the tranny) if it sizzles and steams up then u know its bad and slipping. Another way to check clutch if u get no spin at all? Is to take it out and use ur hand to try and turn the inner spring assembly pushing it around the inside? If its very easy, it BAD should be hard to push by hand. Next check the motor coupler which engages the tub and tranny to the motor. ( if its bad u usually get no wash or spin or very little of either) Next check for a loose, worn or broken belt if belt driven. On some front load models u may need to check the STATOR assembly. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed. Sometimes a no spin machine can be due to a plugged waterpump hose or obstructed water pump propeller. Check these by eye and hand.

Does the machine agitate if so this eliminates the motor coupling could be a bad timer place unit in spin if motor hums then power going to motor eliminates this check the drain pump it is white and attaches to the motor with 2 spring clips if there is something stuck in it or a bad bearing won't drain if a washer cannot drain it will not spin hope this helps.

I just had that problem. The repairman pulled the front off the machine and found a small nail that had fallen through the holes in the washer tub. I didn't watch him do this, so I don't know where inside the machine it was, but he found it right away. Hope this helps.

Did a load of wash it shortcircuited are breaker

You may have a bad circuit breaker in that box, or a bad wire, or a bad connection in the outler or in the washer plug or a loose wire where the plug connects to the washing machine.

Turn off the power to that circuit and check each component until you find the loose wire, or the bad component. Joe

My clothes are soaked after

Try redistributing the clothes, it sounds like it thinks it is out of balance so won't spin. Also make sure it is installed level and not rocking.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

How do I fix a loose drum?

If you can open the top of the washer their will be probally three mounts for the tub these can be on the top or on the bottom and will have rubber grommits on them centering them on posts. One of these may have come loose and it is a farley simple job to squeeze it back in place. If the mounts are on the bottom the whole cabnet will probally come away from the washer for easy access. good luck and I hope this helped.

Amana NTW5245TQ1 Topload washer....water draining out from basket...

Unfortuneately, I think you have two seperate problems. Fortuneately, this is easy to verify. As far as the not spinning, it is generally caused by loose hinge screws on the lid. There is a arm that sticks off the back of the hinge to press on your lid switch. If the screws are loose, the arm generally wont be able to press the switch. Just tightening ther screws on the right and left hand sides of the lid corrects this. You can verify this has corrected the problem by setting the washer to spin without adding any water. As far as the leaking. Well, there are multiple sources for this, but the most common is the water pump. To verify this, unplug your unit and pull it out from the wall. Tilt the top of the washer back towards the wall until it rests by itself at about a 45 degree angle. You are looking for a white peice of plastic towards the bottom front of the machine. There will be 2 black hoses going into it. run your finger across the front side of it feeling for bumps. You may have had something get lodged in there and poke a hole. If you can not find any moisture on the pump (yes it can leak from the hoses of back of the pump also)look for any signs of water having leaked. (you generally get water spots just like in your dishwasher when you don't use a rinse agent). If you still can't see anything, tilt the unit back forward and add 1 cup of water to the machine. Tilt it back again and see if it's leaking. Continue adding water until you can get your leak then trace the water back. However, if you do in fact have a bad pump, they are availible from local appliance parts suppliers (in the phone book) or on-line from the maunufacture. Any troubles or other problems? Drop me a line back. Otherwise,
