T-Mobile Wing™ Smartphone - Page 7 Questions & Answers
My wing keeps locking up and I have to reset it.
You can factory reset it. But unless your contacts are on your SIM card you will lose everything. However, if you are able to use your phone at all you can run a backup program like PIM backup to save all of your goodies.
Anyway, here's how to set it back to factory (a.k.a. Hard Reset)
1. Both of the top soft keys down at the same time
2. While still holding the soft keys, press the "reset" button on the side of the phone. (you'll need to use your stylus)
3. It will bring up a black screen with text asking you to confirm. Press the "send" key to confirm.
Voila, there you go.
By the way this procedure is kind of odd hand placement so it may take a few tries to get it completely.
Let me know how it works for you.
My wing is frozen and can not start
Hard reset it (aka set back to factory default). You will lose all of your contacts, etc. (unless you have recently synchronized them with your PC). But at least you will have a working phone again.
To hard reset:
Hold both of the soft keys down at the same time. Keep holding them down and press the "reset" button on the side of your phone with the stylus. (its a pretty tricky move so it may take a couple of tries).
You will then get a black screen with some text asking you to confirm. Press the "send" key to confirm.
Let me know how it works out for you.
Unlocked my t-mobile wing with
It looks like the Wing is not really unlocked.
To unlock the Wing ou must have purchased the Wing at least three months ago, or unlock will not work.Go to phone network setting and ensure that it is not set to T mobile only, just in case.
Also test different sims.
If the phone is set to get network automatically, then unlock had not been done properly.
The unlock code must be obtained calling Tmobile. Dial T Mobile number (150 , 611or different number depending on location) and ensure that the smart phone is unlocked. If not ask for a new unlock code.
Overclocking t-mobile wing
[WARNING - Overclocking your CPU will at least reduce the life of your processor but may fry it at worst - USE CAUTION]
There are a couple of apps you can use to do this:
OmapClockBatteryStatusI prefer Battery Status because it remembers your CPU overclock whereas OmapClock requires you to reset your CPU on wakeup. Also, BS has a "CPU Scaler" function (UNDERclocks your phone when it is not in use, then OVERclocks it when you wake it up...Pretty cool)
Anyway you will get instructions on the site on how to use each one specifically. They are really easy to use.
T mobile wing
If you still have tmobile as a carrier, call them and tell them you are going to India or somewhere where there Tmobile doesn't have a big presence. Tmobile will unlock your device for free. As long as you have been a customer for 30 days or so.

Do a backup with
PIM Backup and them hard reset the phone (Factory default)
To hard reset the wing: Hold both soft keys down while hitting the reset button with your stylus (the little hole on the side). Should bring up a black screen with some text. Press "send" key to finish process.

T-Mobile Wing rings normally when calls are
I hate to say it but you might need to hard-reset the phone. If you choose to do so BACK UP YOUR DATA first. You can get a free program called "
PIM Backup." This will let you back up all of your contacts, emails, etc. (all personal information). To hard reset, hold down both of the soft keys at the same time, then simultaneously use your stylus to hit the reset button. You should get a black screen with some text on it asking if you want to hard reset. Press the "send" key to confirm. If you don't get the screen right away keep trying as it doesn't work perfectly every time.
