I can't open the disc tray on my sony BDP-S580, I keep getting a message that says "TLK ON"

Very late to post, but mayby someone will need this: just hold down the play button for at least 10 to 15 seconds to activate or deactivate the built-in child lock on this model.

Sony bluray player flashes wait

see this causes and fix it. God bless youIf your mini DVD player reads "No Disc" after you've loaded the disc, it means the machine isn't reading the DVD. Take the DVD out again and clean it. It's quite possible that the disc is simply dirty and cleaning it will solve the problem immediately. If you try several different discs and clean them and you still receive a reading saying "No Disc," then the problem is in the laser and this will need to be fixed by a professional.Clean a DVD disc:
  1. Hold the disc by its central hub and outside edge.
  2. Blow dust from the bottom surface with a can of compressed air.
  3. Clean dirt and fingerprints from the bottom surface with a lint-free cloth dampened with CD/DVD-cleaning fluid or denatured alcohol, wiping from the center outward.
  4. Clean the objective lens:
  5. Remove the housing and lift the hold-down clamp to expose the lens.
  6. Remove dust with canned air or soft brush. If needed, use a foam swab or a camera-lens tissue dampened with lens fluid
