Saeco Odea Go descaling
fill the tank with detergent and let the hot water run for about 15 seconds. Then turn off the machine for about 15 minutes. Then turn the machine back and let the hot water. Then rinse the water tank and fill it with clean water. Run hot water again to empty the tank. Fill clean water again and then you can put down coffee :)
Descaling the machine
When you have deccaled the machine just let water through two or three times. Then there should not be any extra taste of the coffee.
Good luck

Red light flashing
If you mean a slow blinking (1 for second) this means that a tray (water, coffee, ...) is not properly set or closed; but if it blinks quickly (about 2 flashes per second) this means a generic "problem" and you'll have to take the machine to an assistance center. I've regurlarly (every 2-3 months) the 2nd type of blinking and I'm looking for a solution because it costs me about 80$ each time.
Flashing Red bulb
That is the descale light, you should run a descale through the machine. After you have done that hold on the water button and the descale light will go away
Manual
I use distilled vinegar to descale. For heavy scale it may take a couple vinegar baths
I have a Saeco Odea
I recently had this problem. I throughly cleaned and lubricated the brew group as directed by the manual. Apparently if the brew group doesn't move smoothly enough it won't grind the correct amount of beans.
Try lubricating and then brewing 2-3 cups to have the machine recalibrate the grind amount.
