How often does it click? It may be the compressor clicking, trying to start. If so, you may have a faulty starter or compressor.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If the fan in the freezer as well as the condenser fan underneath by the compressor are running, and there is no frost building up on the rear panel in the freezer compartment, then yes, it sounds as if the compressor failed.
If the compressor won't run, it is possible the compressor relay or overload protector failed, but if it was making noise, it is likely the compressor is the faulty component.
If the machine is under 5 years of age, hen the factory will service it. If not, then you will need the services of a professional to check it out.

I believe your new Jen-Air has an old model number placed above your post. If you had a newer model nuber I could see if changes were made to the solution. The ods are no changes. I it possible you may have missed removal of te flilter plug? It also is your first time and to press the 2 buttons at same time for 8 to 10 seconds may be a little confusing. I bet after this time you will have this down to an art! here is what I could find without the vorrect model number if that is what happened or not.Jenn-Air
Press and hold the light and lock buttons until the change filter light flashes.
It is very easy to reset your filter indicator light on your Maytag refrigerator. Simply press and hold the light and lock buttons, on the dispenser, for about three (3) seconds, until the change filter light blinks.

compressor relay. take it off and shake it. 99 percent of the time when there bad they will ratlle like broken bits inside. just replace.

That`s unfortunate. If there are any local appliance service center`s in your area, or a store who has a shop tech. they may be able to help you.

Or... you can try yourself with a little guidance. **Unplug the fridge from the outlet at the wall**
If you remove the ice-maker and observe where the arm goes into the module/head and also onto the plastic water inlet at the other end it is relatively easy to put back. Actually, you may be able to perform the repair without removing the unit at all. It`ll help if you can repair it yourself, only because when it comes to hiring a pro to repair it, the problem being this, it becomes a matter of cost to repair vs. replacement. It may actually be just as economical to replace the entire ice-maker brand new assembly for under $100US. as to pay a pro $50 plus to repair your`s and still have a ice-maker that has however many years wear on it.

If you opt to replace it, this is what I came up with based on the info you provided...part number D7824706Q. The unit should be available at most on-line part`s vendor`s or local appliance part depot`s.

FREEZERS SHOULD BE TEMP AT O /REFRIGERATOR SHOULD BE 40/FOR PERFECT OPERATION.1ST IS THE FAN RUNNING IN THE FREEZER/IF YES UNPLUG FOR 6-8 HOURS AND RETRY/IF NO UNPLUG THE FRIDGE AND REMOVE THE BACK PANEL OF THE FREEZER MAKE SURE THE FAN IS PLUGGED IN.IF SO PLUG IN THE FRIDGE AND SEE IF THE FAN IS TURNING.IF NOT YOU NEED A NEW FAN IF THE FRIDGE IS NEW MAKE THEM BRING YOU A REPLACEMENT FOR FREE.

if you are sure the compressor motor is running and there is no cooling, then its sure that there is leakage of the coolant from the tubes. please contact the dealer for repairing it.

There is fan in the freezer behind the metal cover. Try to stop the fan, and see if the the noise stops... If the noise stops then its possible that the fan is out of balance. If this is not the case then i would suspect that this is problem with the mainboard.

your thermostat is bad,get the model number from inside and call your local appliance store and get a new one,let me know,thanks-mike

Screws in plastic will wear with constant use , take the screw right out and wrap it with aluminium foil, then replace

It's a Jenn-Air, you will need a service call. They are totally electronic and very complex. Look in the manual first as there may be a child lock function on the controls. It sounds like a thermister has failed though which is a temperature control device. It shouldn't freeze at 38'F, 6' above freezing.
