U-Line Icemaker Questions & Answers
U line ice maker is overflowing water
This is usually caused by a bad water inlet valve. This part is usually found behind the fridge at the bottom behind a panel on the fridge itself. It has 1-2 water lines running into it and 1-2 wire harnesses connected. You need to turn off the water going into the fridge and cut the power to the fridge to access this part. You can buy a new one at a local appliance parts store or online. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

How do you change the water valve?
The water valve is normally situated at the bottom rear of the fridge. Follow the water line/ hose to the inside of the fridge at the back compartment and you will find it. With the water AND the power unplugged / turned off, you can remove the water hose fittings and there is usually only 2 wires to the valve.. The water valve itself should only be mounted with a couple of screws or on a bracket. refit everything with the new valve. Slowly turn the water back on first and make sure there are no leaks.
Water leaking from ice maker
Make sure normal drain line (located under the ice) is not clogged. Check gaskets and seals. Also make sure everyone who uses it closes the door completely and does not leave it cracked open. And make sure no one has screwed any thing into it and punctured through it. A screw alone will not keep the water in.
Model No. unknown (believe it's a CLR-5+ years old with manual switch for on/off/cln cycles) will run in clean cycle, but stopped making ice. Ran cleaning cycle when it stopped making ice - worked per
After the cleaning cycle, if you drained the tank to get rid of the cleaning/descaling solution, you will have to refill the machine for the initial start. The normal freeze/ harvest cycle will normally fill the unit after the initial start. I have seen several ice makers with this same initial problem.
If this is not the case and your reservoir is full of water, then check water supply to make sure water will flow all the way into the reservoir. Sometimes the makeup water solenoid fails and need replaced. So if cleaning cycle works and fills, solenoid operated water valve is not the problem. If would mean some electric component is not working. The on/off/clean switch not sending on signal. The board, which is located under the top panel of the cabinet, may have a bad contact on the board. Another possibility is the water level sensor may not be in contact with the water. Most units will not start if the water sensor is not in contact with the water level. It normally looks like a metal probe and has a wire connecting to it to the control board. Any parts can be found by taking your model number to Searspartsdirect.com and can be ordered using a credit card and be delivered to your home.
Hope this helps
