Compaq Network adapter Questions & Answers
I have a compaq presario F500 and it wont connect
More than likely. Especially if you bought the new card from a different company than the one that made your machine. Look on the card for model info, and google "(#model) wireless driver download".
A couple weeks ago my
Sounds like a failing motherboard... but you probably knew that because this is like 3 years old.
Ethernet port is not on
Check your drivers first off, ensure they're installed. If you've recently reformatted your system or suffered hardware failure they very well may not be. It's either a card, or a port built on to the motherboard. if it's a card, get the model number off of it. If it's a port, grab the model info off the motherboard (should be clearly listed somewhere on both)

Removed wireless software for internet
Do you know what your wireless hardware is (make/model info)? If not, what's the make of your computer? It's likely the manufacturer has an app on their website that will scan your hardware and let you know what software/driver updates are needed. Most corporate giants are cool like that...;-)
Can I fit an ethernet
I would imagine you could... provided it's a PCI. That model has both PCI and PCIe, so provided there's a driver for the Operating system you want to use, I think it would be possible.
Am using a compaq system,win7
What's the make model info for the compaq your currently using? Need to use that info to track down a support site that will host the drivers your needing, which sounds like more than one.
What does plug a cable
"Cable" is an ethernet, well, cable... usually comes with any network hardware you purchase, and is readily available at your local WalMart for just a few bucks. You plug the end that looks like a over sized phone plug (RJ45 "ethernet" rather than RJ11 "dial up/analog") into the port that looks like yet another over sized phone jack. You should see either green or orange lights kick on when a connection is made... to let you know "mission accomplished."
Cant use cable internet
Going to assume the LAN port doesn't have drivers installed. Is it a card, or onboard (built onto the motherboard)? We need either the card model info or the motherboard's make/model. From there we can track down the drivers that should fix your issue.
Difference between network router n
A network router is the access point (where multiple computers can connect to the network), and the adapter is the network card (NIC) that allows an individual computer to connect to the access point.
