For the black and white issue, check the settings and make sure that it isn't set on "sepia". As for the color issue, it is quite possible that you are out of ink. Printers may use more of one color than another depending on what you're printing. Change your color cartridge.

Your laser scanner might be defective. Try cleaning it. If nothing happens you might need to replace it. It might also be because of a defective fuser. Replace it as well.

You might need to update your drivers. If this doesn't help, there might be some loose gear inside the feeder . Try checking if there are also objects stuck.

your printer is a photo printer which consumes considerable amount of inks when printing... you may need to perform a head cleaning process to clear the clogg on your nozzle. this may consume your ink cartridges... i suggest that you convert your printer into a CISS (continous ink supply system) this is more cost effective instead of buying ink per ink as this shows the same output as the regular ones.

note: doing the head cleaning process always takes ink to force the clogg out of the nozzle tube

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.

Are you using an original epson cartridge or a third party? You may want to make sure that the contacts are clean.

Remove the cartridge, wipe the cotton bud moistened with alcohol over the contacts behind the cartridge position and replace the cartridge.

Yes it is, a new printer will be better and they are a low cost item now.

This is probably a Ink Absorber Error. Epson has a safety feature built into these machines that will disable all functions once a certain amount of prints have been reached. Search google for AdjProg.exe. this is a tool to reset the counter. I would sugest replacing the Ink Absorber Sponges aswell.

You need to remove the Paper support tray, printer cover front cover usb housing and right and left housing then remove the waste ink tray inside the tray you will find about 12 pads that need taking out you can just replace them with new ones or wash and dry them and re-install them the latter is very messy then refitt everything and then you will need the service utility to restet the printer If you need further help email me at [email protected] or try me on msn messenger using [email protected]

Issue with your Cartridge Carrier... May need to clean up your interior ..Try to clean up a few time with menu setup program ...also take off your cartridge and bang it gently on a paper on the side of the table then clean up with a Q-tip the inside of your machine ..Go get on any computer store ask for toner cleaner tell him you want to clean you printer ..then with a Q-tip clean all your inside printer the your printer will work like new..
