Nikon D50 Digital Camera with Nikkor AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED DX Lens Questions & Answers
Nikon
Hello, please check your battery so it's fully charged. If it is maybe your memory card has some problems, or there are problems with the conections of the lens to the body (a gentle dry cleaning will probably do). If everything fails, check the troubleshooting section of the manual, or seek profesional help.

I have a Nikon D50 which I frequently interchanges
without seeing pictures, I'd say you could TRY some plastic epoxy or some type of plastic-specific adhesive. i'm assuming you have the pieces that were broken off. otherwise, i'd say get a new lens...they are relatively reasonable used.

My Nikon D50 camera says
It thinks that the SD card is full - try re-formatting if you have no photos there. The SD functions the same as a PC hard drive, and if the directory 'tracks' are corrupt, anything could happen. Else try a new SD card.

Nikkor 18-55 lens autofocus problem
That usually indicates that the lens is not communicating with the camera. The contacts on the mount side of the lens may be damaged or dirty. If cleaning the contacts with an eraser doesn't solve the issue, you might want to try another lens to see if the camera is at fault. If the camera checks okay with another lens, then it is likely the the lens needs a new circuit board

Raw setting
You do need RAW compatable software to read these files.
However this should not prevent you simply saving them to a file.
When you say regular Wizard - is this the Windows scanner/Camera Wizard or the one on the Camera CD
If the latter delete that software and use the Windows version.
If you are using the camera to up load images - not a a good idea think of the battery drain - a Card reader is better.
Reading Raw images?
Do a web search for free software
IrfanView Might as indeed Picasa - two to look at

Autofocus not working
Have you tried to see if you camera is running the latest firmware? If its not update it.
Nikon Teleconverter
You could probably use either a 1.4 x or a 2 x, depending on how much you wanted to increase the focal length of your lens. A 1.4 x would give you a range of 98-420, a 2 x would give you a range of 140-600.
Having said that, teleconverters are not usually recommended for use with zoom lenses, and you would lose one stop with the 1.4 x, two stops with the 2 x, thus necessitating longer exposures. Also, with the increase in focal length comes an increased probability of camera shake being more apparent, due to the increased magnification. In your position, I would attempt to get closer to the subject, using a teleconverter as a last resort if this is not possible.
My Nikon D3200 says shutter error can I fix this issue myself?
hi,
did you charge your battery full ? if the battery is not charged enough, it will not drive the shutter opener motor perfectly, and if any type of dirt or friction on the shutter drive gears this will happen, please check the shutter movement by removing the lens.
