That does not matter the MAC address is all you need.Please give details of your problem with this Netgear router.

You can find the Wi-Fi password either at the bottom cover of your router typed at a label, or at the configuration page for the router at the section wi-fi (or wlan) - security. Depending on which revision you have there are two possibilities

Default Username is: admin
Default Password is: password
or
Default Username is: admin
Default Password is: admin

If neither of these work - you may have setup a new username and password and forgot - on the router you will see a reset point - reset the router to factory defaults and the username and passwords above will now work.

saw you may chek the errors if it is working correctly then always be careful for disable the icons...........

That means you are not getting signal from your service provider. The cable icon should be solid green if your getting a signal from your service provider.

If you can't remember your password your only option is to factory reset the router and reconfigure it.

There is a button on the router, it's recessed and will need to be pushed using a paperclip or something small. Push and hold this button for 30 seconds to reset the router to factory settings.

After this you will need to reconfigure the router and set up the new security/password.

This has happened to me before. I had to unplug my router, then unplug my modem aswell (if you have one) and I waited for a good 10 minutes. Then plugged my modem in and let it boot up all the way, then plugged in my router, and it worked fine after that.

You can have it reset by going to hotmail.com and click on Forgot your password? and follow the screen to answers few questions (usually security questions? to have your password reset.

To change your wireless password, you would need to open your router Graphical User Interface.
To do this follow the steps below:
- open your internet browser - type 192.168.0.1 - it will prompt you user name and password Normally Username: admin Password: blank
Then go to wireless security tab, then from there you should see the options to change the password.

To Test If Your Port Is Open

1. Download PFPortCheck Program
2. Install PFPortCheck
3. Run PFPortCheck. Type in the port that you want to check, choose UDP or TCP, and click the Check Me button

If you need the password to access the router's interface, by default the username is admin and the password is password.


If you need the password to your wireless network, you will need to access it's interface, using a computer already connected (wireless or by ethernet) to the router.
In your web browser, type the address http://192.168.1.1 and enter the username and password above to access the router's interface. If the address is not valid, try http://192.168.0.1

Once in the interface, click on "wireless settings" in the menu on the left. There, you should see the type of security used by the router and the password (or key) should be clearly visible at the bottom of the page,
