If your not able the boot from the HDD, enter BIOS by pressing F2 at startup. Then press F9 for default settings and then F10 for saving and reboot.. Maybe you need to provide more info.

I answered this question before however the switch may also be faulty that is possible or the keyboard may be faulty as well. I would have it checked out by a pro to see what the real problem is. Or if you want to bypass all that then just go and get a wireless USB stick and go that route as well. That is another option if you do not want to pay to have it fixed. Then go to Startup and remove TSRs (terminate and stay resident programs) that have been added by new programs.

Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.
Try going into sound select and test reinstall driver off Asus website..if you installed new windows or update drivers may not work right...see if you can roll back driver in device manager ..if not lookup your laptop model and reinstall...
