Might be. Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. Try this:
Access menu service by press on your command, with your TV OFF:

INFO + MENU + MUTE + POWER ON

Then you should get access to Service Menu.

The last item says: RESET

This will do a reset to the TV.

Make no harm.

WARNING: If when on service menu you feel tempted to "screw" on anything FIRST take note on ALL you change! You can compromise the TV ...

Your power cable might be a little loose, happens with my TV too.

Try to push it in a bit, just a bit.

If there is the same problem again, try buying new power cable, and if that does not help, your TV will break soon.

Updating the Channel List Automatically You can update the channel list when the broadcaster adds new Services or if you move the TV to a new location.

1. Press the MENU button to display the menu. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Digital Menu", then press the ENTER button.

2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Channel", then press the ENTER button.

3. Press the ENTER button again, to select "Country".

4. Select the appropriate country by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. Press the ENTER button to confirm your choice. Even though you have changed the country setting in this menu, the country setting for Analogue TV is not changed. (Refer to page 11 of the user guide)

5. Press the ▲ or ▼ button again, to select "Auto Store". Press the ENTER button. When it has finished, the number of scanned services will be displayed. The existing favourite channel list will not be deleted when the channel list is updated. To stop the scan before it has finished, press the ENTER button with "STOP" selected.

6. Press the EXIT button to exit. If the signal status is poor, the "No Service found! Check the aerial connection" message is displayed. Check the aerial connection and the try the procedure again

Most remotes can be tested and if bad fixed, look if test shows not sending for battery connections, something has been spilled on it or if suspect it was dropped the actual led/s inside that send the signal have come loose from the board where they are soldered in.

No, not power board actually..

You possibly have bad inverter board (this board is responsible for creating back-light) if this fails your TV black screen,

Hello,

All Plasma and LCD TV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.
Good luck in solving the problem.
