The PC connection on a TV is an input only and you cannot record to a PC using it. depends on how strong the signal the antenna picks up and delivers to the set is.

you are having a problem in the video circuits..or the IF circuit.and trouble shooting these circuits are very difficult at times.if any measurements are to be done subtituting the IC 101 will be best.before changing measure the voltage comming in and out of the IC.if you are not a tech take your set to a tech for repairs.good luck.

Not knowing the exact model, there are usually several ways to get the tv signal to the set. There is an HDMI port - a "flat squashed connector", S-Video(round connector with 5-9 pins) + L/R Audio (2 small barrels one red one white) and the RF Antenna Input (looks like a fat bolt sticking out of the set) - this is what you would attach to your cable (the connector screws on)
