Needing to replace power jack. I need schematics

The only location to get those diagrams is the manufacturer and they only release them to authorized repair centers. The good news is the dis-assembly is not that difficult if you pay attention. There are several screws to be removes from the bottom and most likely a cover above the keyboard to remove then remove the keyboard screws. Carefully disconnect the ribbon connectors that connect the keyboard and monitor to the motherboard. Remove the hinges and monitor and the various attached devices. The problem you are going to have is the actual removal of the power connector and proper connection. These multilayer boards have connections between the layers that you need to be very careful with. It can be done. You need a solder removing tool, 35w with suction attachment and solder braid and a soldering iron. Use the Suction tool to remove the majority or the Solder then use the Soldering Iron and braid to remove the rest. If you feel any resistance what so ever keep removing the solder. Once the new part is installed through the holes make sure you have solder all the way through or you will miss a connection.

I cleared the bios password, but still asks me for

Hello,
There are 2 ways you can reset your bios2_bing.gif.

1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in2_bing.gif your system. Your reset is now complete

2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete

This is a great troubleshooting2_bing.gif step for those of you having POST issues or no POSTing at all. Like other troubleshooting steps, this will not always work but usually will depending on the problem.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks.

No power. All power cords checked and tight. With

Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

I have a Gateway MP6954 laptop with factory 120GB

you need to check the specs on your gateway to be sure your laptop firmware can accept the 500G hard drive (might be too big for it to see). I would first check for any firmware updates from the gateway website first and any notes that they can provide to you.
Another point is the kind of hard drive you are looking at. Is it an SATA drive? PSATA? EIDE? This also needs to be clarified to be sure you have the right kind of drive. You can verifi\y that you system can see the drive by looking in the CMOS screens to see if it sees the drive. I suggest you start there and check for updates to the firmware if you do not see it in there (CMOS). Thanks!

I'm upgrading my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb 1333Mhz DDR3 kinsgton to my DH67CL mobo with an intel i3 2120 2nd generation processor.. When I started my desktop, there was no display, so i took one stick o

you are confused ( the rules are not singular ever) first of all these are the rules on DDR3 (any mem) upgrades
  1. gateway manual covers this but no GW model told.
  2. bios shows its ok or upgraded , bios now works.
  3. chipset allows this DDR3 and that same density
  4. not violating slot limits or both at once limits
  5. matching sku on DDR3, says intel clearly.
  6. no PC does 32BG with that chip set,. (none sold so no way on the earth to test it ever in that YEAR NEW) but is a logical limit only in the i3 MMC. per its datasheet intel.com
  7. try the bios upgrade,
  8. NO OS told at all, nor how you know 8GB fails does bios see it>????? if the OS is 32bit max is 4GB (3.2GB with video stealing VRAM from Dram per chipset H67.
  9. is this a real intel mobo?> as some are, then if yes ask intel too for help.
  10. intel bios is BLH6710H.86A date. Version 0162 or later 2018
  11. Most old mobo do not like super new DDR3 it high density DRAM on the sticks, some do if bios upgrade.
  12. Intel is mute now on this Discontinuted product. theirs"
Gateway M what does this mean,???? M is notebook not desktop so you posted to gateway forum for any intel actual mobo DH67CL if this mobo came from intel new, then only ask them or post to intel forum not gateway but gee I do know some old makers of PC simply stuffed in this mobo into there cases and sold it by there name. but no GW model told AT ALL. been here yet https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000021462/boards-and-kits/desktop-boards.html RTM from maker, do as they say. and over 4GB needs 64bit OS. the 32GB limit includes PCI memory too, see page 40 , and know that your unstated OS must know how to use the upper memory bank of the MMC controller 4 slots of DDR3 are there. (4x8=32) make sure BIOS likes it first NOT WINDOWs (if is>?) bios is first and bios tells windoz how much DDR3 is there, and works with that. 32BG is possible if all things are correct BIOS if it scans the SPD chip in the DDR3 each , and BIOS is does not know what it sees , it will truncate DDR. max.
