I need to convert my
Steve, you also need to change the burner(s) orifices to Natural Gas orifices. Natural gas won't work with Propane orifices.
Good luck and Happy Grilling!!
I have a full tank of gas and all valves are open
Yes, you have a problem with the OPD Valve in the gas tank, but it is solvable.
First, tunr the tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. In the meantime, turn on all the burners to the highest setting for 1 minute and turn them OFF. After 5 minutes has elapsed connect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open light the burner that's farthest from the LP tank first and turn it to high. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Do all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly.
If the above didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can purchase one at any home center or hardware store, that sell gas grills and accessories. Just take you old one with you for comparison purposes.
Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!
We are not getting a full flame. We have enough
This is a common occurrence when occasionally, you can get moisture inside the line, decreasing the gas flow to the burners. A simple cure is to disconnect the line, turn the burners on very low and reconnect the propane line to the burners. This should expel any moisture you had in the line. Once reconnected, turn the burners to the IGNITE setting and light.
Bbq won't heat fast
Hi could be the burners or orfices are blocked could just need cleaning out this would help with the heat loss.
Does not heat up right
Disconnect tank - remove cooking grates and flavorizer bars - use a soft metal brush and lightly brush the burner tube (where the flame comes out) and make sure they are not clogged up. While you have the grates and bars out you should clean them as well with hot soapy water and a brush. Put all pieces back in when done cleaning and re-connect the propane tank. Open propane tank valve 1/3 of a turn and light grill. After it ignites, open valve further. Usually a good cleaning will take care of it. If not, it may be the gas regulator. Weber has great customer service and will be more than glad to help you with just a phone call. On your grill there should be a label showing your model and serial number. It is very helpful if you have this info if you call Weber (but not totally necessary). Weber contact number is 1-800-446-1071
I have a Weber Silver
Weber stopped selling conversion kits due to some legal action in 2008. There are no longer kits available. What you would have to do to covert it is order a replacement gas valve for the NG version of your grill just to get the orifices. Then you have to replace the LP regulator with a NG regulator. Typically most NG grills do NOT have a regulator but local building codes will require a NG regulator and a different gas line hose.
Conversion of a BBQ gas valve to NG is a matter of drilling out the orifice to a larger hole in an LP orifice.
You will not find anyone that will perform this conversion for you due to legal liabilites.
If you want to convert it... you will either have to order the whole gas control valve for NG or drill out the orifices yourself in your current gas valve hoping your got the orifice hole size correct when you drilled it. Mind you all liability for doing this lies solely with you.

Trying to address a leak
Mix some water and detergent together - where ever it bubbles that is where the leak is. Sometimes the thread is worn so get some GAS Tape and undo the thread - wrap tape around re-tighten and then check for leaks again with soapy water
My weber grill (silver) does
First, consider how long you preheat the grill and to what temperature are you preheating? If it's not long enough to reach at least 350 degrees, before you open the hood to start grilling. You're not allowing the grill to preheat long enough.
Second: Have you looked at the flame height on each burner when they're turned to the highest setting? It may be that the burners need to be removed and properly cleaned. In addition, the venturi valve on each burner may be partially clogged with spiders or spider webs. When that happens, the burners do get the right air to gas mixture/ratio and the burners don't fully light and heat up.
If the burner flames remain lower than they should, the grills regulator may be locked up. In which case, turn the tank valve OFF, disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to high. Does the flame height now, appear to be normal? If so, light the remaining burner(s) the same way. The flame height on all should be the same on the highest setting. If they don't you'll need to replace the grills regulator/hose assembly. You can purchase one at just about any home center or hardware store that sells grills and grill accessories. Just take your old one with you for comparison purposes.
Any or all of the above should solve your problem. Please let me know and if you have any questions, don't fail to ask.

Hello bob...this problem is almost always due to rust, dirt, spider webs etc. in these components that said, remove all of the removable parts from within the grill and clean them up with a wire brush and a shop vac or use a compressor to blow the debris out of them then reassemble them and it should light. The ignmition switch stays down
the switch spring will go out often in the push button types. it is two wires you will have to disconnect and reconnect when you buy a new one like such --> ( http://www.csgrills.com/Common/Product/CatProduct.aspx?ID=186243&Src=GoogleBase&SrcID=2248467 )
First two burners work fine
This is very common with faulty regulators. The regulator is located on the hose (it is a metal silver disc located at the end of the hose where the hose attaches to the propane tank.)
To replace the hose and regulator, you need to detach the hose from the grill. Your local grill store should have replacement hose and regulators.
Hope this helps.

Two problems - Two Solutions: Turn the LP tank valve to OFF. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank and do not reinstall for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tak valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow). When the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank and turn the flame height to HIGH? Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. If all the flame heights appear to be normal for the highest setting, you've solved the problem.
Second problem & solution: The grill thermometer may be incorrect (as they often are). If you don't have one, buy an inexpensive oven thermometer (that normally sits on the oven rack) and place it on the cooking grate of your grill, toward the front of the grill. Once in place, preheat your grill as you normally would with the hood closed and at about the 15 minute mark, compare the temperature on the two thermometers. If they're within a few degrees of each other, your grill thermometer is accurate. If the Oven thermometer reads higher (more than a few degrees), the grill's T-Stat is faulty.
Personally, I always use an oven thermometer on my grill when grilling or baking anything.
Hope this helped to solve your problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!
