Toshiba Satellite P105-S6084 Notebook Questions & Answers
Does my laptop have an dvi port
If it has one that should not be too difficult to find. Look around the
sides of the laptop for a white rectangular port as on the screen
capture below.
Older
laptops have a VGA port and maybe an S-Video port (like the round one
on the image.) Newer laptops may have an HDMI port. DVI-to-VGA adapters
are available at computer accessories shops.

I shut down the laptop
Try this :
1. unplug the ac adapter and remove the battery .
2. press and hold power button for a minute
3. now put the battery back and plug in ac adapter
4. turn on the laptop now
it should work.
if not, try removing hard drive and memory modules then reinstall them back.
if the issue persists, your motherbord has gone bad.

Will not start. HDD power light comes on for about
It could be a faulty battery. Remove the battery & try to power up the laptop.
If
the laptop did not power up after removing the battery, then notice the
power receptacle where you plug the power adapter's cord to the laptop.
While plugging the power cord in, notice if there is a spark occurring
at the power receptacle. If the spark occurs, then disconnect internal
drives & connectors one at a time until subsystem with short is
identified. If power input still a short with bare motherboard, replace
the motherboard. If the spark did not occur, then inspect the boards for
burnt or melted components, cold solder on DC jack, open connections,
or unseated cards.

There is a transparent column on my toshiba
If the problem is also on an external display then maybe Windows Side Bar is loaded with no gadgets.
Otherwise a replacement screen is the answer.
See ebay for prices and availability.

Has power, but will not post up or go thru boot
Hello my friend,if you sure that is having power and is not motherboard or CPU error then you should try resetting your bios settings or check if the bios battery is dead. You should take it to a repair shop to take a look or tell me if you want to try to change the cmos battery but remember that the warranty will be void and you may harm your computer.
