Do not remove that plastic screw. Just remove outlet from behind(input hose of drain motor)put a bucket full water in dishwasher by hand everything will go out then put hose back to motor and seal it.This is the best way.Only thinhg you will have to clean all water on floor or take it to wet area and do all this.all the best to you.

Try a mainboard Reset. Pull the mains plug before bed tonight. Tomorrow, press and hold the on button for 30 seconds, then let go and plug it back in.

My plan was to see if I could find you a service manual, but strangely, the only reference to that model number is your post here! My guess is the D6 is 'D for Dishwasher' and 'Series 6' or 6 models in that current series.
If the machine has been laid up or little used, check all the connection on the control board. Clean pins and plugs with electrical switch cleaner

The loud popping noise that you're hearing when you open and shut the door of your Whirlpool dishwasher (model # WDT780SAEM1) is most likely caused by the door gasket. The door gasket is the rubber seal that runs around the door, creating a tight seal when the door is closed.
Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
Check the gasket for damage: Inspect the door gasket for any tears, cracks, or other damage. If you find any damage, you will need to replace the gasket.
Clean the gasket: Over time, debris and food particles can accumulate on the gasket, causing it to become stiff and not seal properly. Clean the gasket with a mild detergent and warm water, and then dry it thoroughly.
Check the door alignment: Make sure that the door is properly aligned and not hitting the gasket when you open and shut it. If the door is not aligned properly, you will need to adjust it.
Lubricate the hinge: If the door gasket is in good condition and properly aligned, the problem may be with the hinge. Try lubricating the hinge with a silicone-based lubricant, as this can help to reduce friction and noise.
Contact Whirlpool: If you have tried all of the above steps and are still unable to fix the issue, contact Whirlpool customer service for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with additional troubleshooting steps or advice, or they may need to send a technician to repair or replace the dishwasher.
It's important to note that if the popping noise you're hearing is accompanied by other symptoms, such as leaks, then it may be related to a different problem, and you should contact Whirlpool customer service or a professional service technician for further diagnosis and repair.

here are a few possible causes for a dishwasher soap dispenser's trigger/spring to continuously try to open the dispenser after it has been opened:
The trigger/spring mechanism may be damaged or broken. This could be caused by normal wear and tear over time, or it could be the result of a foreign object getting stuck in the mechanism. The dishwasher's control board may be malfunctioning. If the control board is not functioning properly, it could send a signal to the soap dispenser to continuously open and close. There may be a problem with the dishwasher's timer or motor. If the timer or motor is not working properly, it could cause the soap dispenser to malfunction. To troubleshoot the problem, you could try cleaning the soap dispenser and checking for any foreign objects that may be stuck in the mechanism. You could also try resetting the dishwasher by turning off the power and unplugging it for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional for further assistance or to consider replacing the soap dispenser.
Question edited for multiple spelling errors
Because water hammer is nothing to do with the soap dispenser! In fact nothing to do with the dishwasher, apart from it requesting water from the mains supply. It goes all the way back to one of your main water valves although it may be the water inlet valve on the dishwater. You need a 'water hammer arrestor'.
