• Check the lid switch, make sure the screws in the lid are tight also

You have to hinge console back by loosening screws in back corner of console. Then remove two gold clips that hold cabinet on. you can't clean lint filter. It has a built in filter that cleans itself. It is under the inner basket. If you have to, than remove the agitator and inner basket. It is attached to basket on bottom. Did not want to disect the entire machine to get at the lid switch. Couldn't figure out how to get the corner covers off so I figured we would continue to slam the lid until that no longer worked and then "call the guy". Thanks.

The direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission is broken and must be replaced.
