My whirlpool gas stove oven

The oven temperature control is usually controlled by a thermostat that uses a capillary and liquid filled bulb. When the bulb's liquid gets heated up, it expands and puts pressure on a diaphragm which opens and closes a switch that controls the gas to the burner. Just set the dial to what you need the temperature to be. Over time, it is possible for your thermostat to lose its calibration. Sometimes, the thermostat sensing bulb comes loose from the holder. If it is out of place, the thermostat may be getting faulty readings. If this is the problem, re-aligning the bulb properly will take care of this problem. Digital display models use a sensor to control temperature. If this is faulty, replace it. Other ovens use a mechanical system to control the temperature. On many models, you can adjust your oven thermostat using a small screwdriver. The adjusting screw is located on the thermostat valve stem. Remove the knob and you'll see the screw underneath it. You want to turn the oven on and run it through at least two cycles while watching a calibrating thermometer in the oven for high and low temperatures. Adjust the screw as necessary to fine tune the temperature. Some models don't have an adjustable thermostat, and you will have to replace the thermostat if you want to resolve the problem. The oven sensor: works with the oven control board to regulate the oven temperature. If there is an oven temperature problem, this sensor might be defective. The sensor can be tested by using an ohm meter. As temperature rises, the resistance measurement also rises. The manufacturer of the oven sensor determines the correct resistance, Oven temperature problems can be caused by other things, but this is one of the common causes. Beware on some models now most of these ovens they are electronic and they are integrated into the control itself some different sensor ohm readings at room temp. approx 16 ohms at room temperature and at 350?F it is 29~33 ohms. It's likely that the board on which the display is found also contains the control electronics for the oven functions.
If you want to look into replacing this yourself, go to the link below for illustrations of your unit but the page lists several variations beyond the model number you listed so check your literature from your unit to establish which exact unit you have:

How do you clean a self-cleaning gas oven?

If it's one with pyrolytic oven coatings then you empty the oven and turn the oven to maximum for about three hours.

The linings will get hot enough to burn deposits to a light ash residue which you can then wipe off with a damp cloth when the oven has cooled down.

Some modern ovens have a self-cleaning setting on one of the controls. All it does is to automate the process and to lock the oven door until the cycle has completed.

Note that you will smell the fumes as the oven self-cleans and they can set off any smoke alarms you have. Also, if the oven is really filthy and thickly caked in grease then the pyrolysis will not be fully effective. Note that oven shelves and other metal fittings and also door glass are not pyrolytic and any deposits will get baked on, so clean those separately first. Really stubborn deposits will come off using a caustic-soda based cleaners, but you must wear suitable protective gloves, glasses and clothing and exercise extreme care when using them as caustic soda burns are far, far, worse than acid burns.

My whirlpool 465 oven won't

Most of the time the ignitor will go out, or is going out. Turn the oven on and see if you see a glow. You may have to pull the bottom drawer out to see this or even possibly remove the pan in the bottom of the inside oven. If you see the ignitor glowing but still not lighting it is not drawing enough amperage to open the safety valve (gas valve). That part will more than likely solve your problem and will cost you no more than $50 normally. OVEN TURNING OFF BY ITSELF.

Hi!
The F2 code means Oven Temperature Too High. When this code is present do the following:
1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.

A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Unable to clear error message on panel...oven not operating

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

E1 f2 happens after clearing a couple minutes

F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
