Low battery on hunter 44422
I have the same unit, 44422. The base has four clips, two on the top and two on the bottom. The front portion is clip-on. Try to push on the base's bottom and pull off the front portion, like opening a book. After the battery replacement you will have to reset the unit trough the little reset hole. Otherwise, the ''LOW BATTERY" will not go away. Yes, you will have to reprogram the unit.
Regardless what I do I
I have a solution!!!! Ok, hit the filter key. You will see the filter counter screen. Hit and hold the RET/CLEAR key until the Filter flashes and it clears the counter. I just found it by trial and error. I wrote it inside the cover so I could remember.

Hummm... how far is your Thermostat from your heater? I am reading your extensive manual but there is no mention of that distance? There was a early mention of batteries? Are yours fresh?
Is this a 'new' problem? Has it worked properly before?
Then there is this from the manual:
The installer can set SYSTEM functions once the thermostat is installed. The
default settings are shown in bold in the following list. Options are listed inside the
parentheses. Example: the default SYSTEM TYPE is CONVENTIONAL with (HEAT PUMP) as a second option. See pages 28-29 to change these settings.
Have you tried resetting your Thermostat?? Sometimes these basic 'onboard' computers get confused... especially true with lots of 'options'...
It's a little hassle to get a DIGITAL copy of your manual (I am not a Robot ~ etc) ~ but here it is:

This should help you. You need to know if your thermostat is powered by the unit or independently and which way your reversing valve switches (I,m not sure on a Bryant, but probably Your old O wire goes to your new O terminal. They should pretty much match up, the new stat just has more options.

Hunter 44360 thermostat wiring
If you don't have the wiring information, go here:
http://www.hunterfanhq.com/tools/sales/hunter/preseason/images/owners/42710.pdf and see page 10.
If you're still having problems, go down to the furnace room and find the piece of equipment that you're wiring to. See where the wires came from, transpose that to the information above. Note: the wiring from the relay box should be 24 volts which is safe to handle. Wiring inside the relay box may be 110 or more volts which is not!!! Cut power before opening relay boxes.
As far as heater running continuously, be sure of your wiring. You may have the gas relay lead and the fan lead reversed. Determine if you've set the switch options for your type of heater correctly!!! Do you hear the relay clicking in and out at or near the room temp when you change the setpoint? If not, the unit may be defective.
Hunter fan 44360 won't turn my furnace on
List of things to check:
Are the batteries good?
Is the system switch set to heat, and not cool?
Does the fan come on when you set the fan switch to ON?
If none of these things seem to be the problem, call hunter fan tech support at 1-888-830-1326
Heater does not turn off
It could be, or it could be a wiring issue. Make sure that your wires are in the correct place (R or Rh and W), and that they are not touching each other. If you have the unit running, and you disconnect either of the wires, it should shut off. If it does not, then the problem is in the wiring. Hope this helps
The furnace wont turn on even though it says it is
not all digital thermostats are compatible with the manufacturers circuit control boards in the furnace. Hunter has had this problem several years ago. Other than that you may have miss wired the unit. usually the furnace is used as backup heat (during defrost) or emergency heat if your heat pump konks out. Are you switching to emergency heat for a furnace call?
