Cannot record outgoing voicemail greeting
It's not in the manual for the good reason that the AT&T 992 isn't an answering machine. If you want to record an outgoing voicemail greeting, you'll have to do it on the voicemail system, not on the phone. If you need instructions on how to do that, you'll have to tell us the make and model of the voicemail system or answering machine.

Hi Dewey,
Please make sure that the mute light is glowing when you are in the call as this will your microphone mute so your voice will not be heard at the other end.
1. Mute allows you to hear the other party, but the other party cannot hear you.
2. To activate this feature, press and release Mute button.
The MUTE light goes on.
3. To return to the conversation, press and release Mute button again.
NOTE: Switching from handset to speakerphone or headset, or from speakerphone or headset to handset, changing lines, and putting a call on hold will cancel Mute.
If still your voice is not transmitted properly to the other end, there there might be some problem with your phones microphone.
connect the receiver unit from any other similar phone and check. If works well, then its sure that your existing receiver's microphone is not working. To rectify this problem you may need to call for a phone service center.
I hope this is helpful to you
Thanks
