PS3 supports Bluetooth V2.0, in fact the Playstation branded headset is V2.1. All versions of Bluetooth are backwards compatible. Are you sure that the headset is going into proper pairing mode?

You can't, that headset only supports HFP for calls.
You need a headset that supports A2DP for music.

Bluetooth headsets have their pairing code hardcoded by their manufacturers. Most of them, choose '0000' (four zeros). Others choose '1234', whilst some of them use '8888'.
A bluetooth headset must be put in pairing mode, prior to its first connection to a bluetooth enabled device (e.g. phone, PC). All of them must be turned off before starting the pairing procedure. Some motorola headsets have a boom, which must be opened, in order for it to enter the pairing mode, whilst other headstets must have their Multi Function Button (MFB, or Call/End button) pressed and held for some 6 to 10 seconds. Their LED light use to indicate their pairing mode. Some of them flash rapidly (sometimes in more than one color), whilst others keep it solidly lit. Anyway, once your headset is in pairing mode, make your phone (or PC)'s bluetooth application search for new devices. After a while, your headset should appear on the device' screen. Select it and make the application connect. If a passkey (or PIN, or pairing code) is requested one of the codes I've suggested above.
The pairing procedure, between any two bluetooth enabled devices, should be done only once. All subsequent connections should be achieved by bring both devices, with their bluetooth radio turned on, close enough to each other. If their link is not automatically established, a simple press on the headset's MFB should be enough.
Hope you are able to pair your headset soon.
Regards, Carlos

It's '0000' (four zeros). By the way, if you happen to miss its user guide, feel free to download it from this location.

The default passkey for this headset is 0000

Motorola... | Answered on Mar 30, 2010 | 315 views

the bluetooth default code is often a 4 digit number 0000 or 1234 if that does not work - post back the exact make and models of the phone and earpiece and I will try and find the user manual where it may mention the default code used

Any device that has been washed may work for a while after being washed if not in acorrosive soap. But I would not rely on it. Do not recharge until it dries and if you can remove the battery do so untiul it dries. The good news is you probably won't damage it any more by trying it once it dries. If it's junk it is junk
