If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is toadd some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

Dish washer not cleaning dishes in top rack

Hi

Please check if something is blocked near the top spray arm, also make sure that all holes are open. Use a sharp metal pin to clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low.

under the screen and you'll need a Torx screwdriver to get to it after you remove the spray arm and screen. Check to see that the path it travels is clear. I have seen these get blocked up by stuff. Now check if the top arm spins freely and check the bearings for the arm, if they are producing extra friction while the spray arm spins. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more assistance.

Loud noise when washing, but

Hello,

Everyone expects their dishwasher will work correctly. They can become nonchalant about it until one day it does not function. Sometimes the dishwasher doesn't drain as expected. Most people immediately call the plumber when their dishwasher doesn't work. There are several things you can try at home before having to pay an expensive service fee.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); });

Instructions And material
Needed below.

  • Basic Tools,Rag.
  1. Check the basics. Make sure that the dishwasher has actually finish the cycle. Your dishwasher will not drain until the end of the cycle. Many things may have interrupted the cycle. Check circuit breaker and reset it if appropriate. Also check the fuse. It is possible that you could have tripped a circuit have way through the cycle. Make sure the door is properly closed. Ensure you have chosen a cycle on the dishwasher. It is amazing the problems children could accidentally cause, that are easy fixes.
  2. Remove any excess food at the bottom of the dishwasher. The best way to do this is with your hands. Large food particles can block from going into the drain. This is also another extremely easy fix to make your dishwasher to drain.
  3. Check to ensure that the hoses are still attached. Use your manual to find where the hoses are. If they are not attached the owner's manual will give you instructions on how the attach the hoses to your specific dishwasher.
  4. Attempt to declog the line. Disconnect the hose from under your sink and check to see if there are any clogs. Use a hanger or towels, remove the clog from the hose.
  5. Remove the dishwasher basket. Again refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.Normally you will remove it with a screwdriver. Make sure to work slowly. As you take the basket apart, you will be able to see if it needs to be cleaned. If there is dirt or debris, you can clean the parts with a rag or paper towel. After cleaning these parts, you can replace the basket.
  6. Call a plumber. If the dishwasher is still not draining, the problems are a little more complex to fix. It is advisable to call plumber to make your dishwasher drain.
Good Luck and thanks for using fixya.

The dishwasher makes a whining noise while

The problem would be either something in sump area of the pump near the chopper or a bad main bearing in the motor. Since it is fairly new I would suspect something in the sump. I have put together some instructions on how to take this apart and clean. Let me know if this helps.

Dishwasher filling correctly?

john, the dishwasher has a timed fill, make sure you are using 3/8 inch line. If you are using 1/4 inch, that would be your problem. The fill should be just below the heating element. If you are using the 3/8 inch line, the next suspect would be the fill valve itself. Make sure nothing is kinked, Catriver.

I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher GU2451 XTST2. The circulation pump is not working. I would like a wiring diagram to troubleshoot it.

Unlikely to be the wiring. It can only be the motor, the door switch, the flood sensor, the motherboard or the control panel. Unfortunately no Service Manual for that model. https://www.google.com/search?q=whirlpool+dishwasher+gu2451+xtst2+service+manual https://www.google.com/search?q=whirlpool+dishwasher+gu2451+wiring+diagram ..

Hi, I have a Whirlpool dishwasher adp 4608 the green light is flashing constantly. It used to flash 7 times. I reset a few times and twice a bit of water leaked out. Now it's flashing constantly.

Please recheck how many times it is flashing. It can be as many times as 13 flashes to be an error message. Try this webpage as a guide to what it could be. https://www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/whirlpool-dishwasher-error-fault-codes
