Janome Mini Compact - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
John Lewis mini sewing machine
This was really helpful for me fixing my daughter a John Lewis (janome) mini sewing machine, and now can get the bobbin thread up again, however, when you sew, the thread is not staying in stitches, just coming off the material completely. I tried forcing the gears on one more time but then it didn't pick up the bobbin thread again so went back to the other gear position. Any ideas of what to try and get it stitching again? Thanks

Threading a sewing machine
What do you mean you are unable to pull the bobbin thread through, elaboration would help solve the problem...
I suspect I'm having the same problem with you if it's anything to do with the top thread looping around in the bobbin holder.
Damn machine!

Jl mini faceplate
Have you checked the website for this machine? They should be able to direct you to a replacement plate. I hope that this helps.

I need the power cord
Thesewingoutlet.com and bizrate.com both have them listed in stock, and you will probably find some on eBay as well. However, with purchase price plus shipping running around 40+ dollarsfor a machine that was only $55 new, you might be better off finding a new machine altogether that won't have any underlying issues that a used machine might.

Tension is too tight unable to loosen cotton
Before you do anything else unthread and rethread the machine again. Sometimes the thread gets hooked on something or wrapped around and will cause it to break. Of course do check the tension again too. Is it breaking when you pull on it before it goes through the needle?
If it is breaking when sewing then it could be that the bobbin tension is too tight.

My Janome mini compact will not sew through a
sometime the needle & thread are not compatable--try this & see if it work for you
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread
