Unfortunately sounds like the squirrel cage in the front may have broken off at the hub. This is a pretty extensive job on most window units, not all that costly (parts wise) but quite a lot of labor.

What maintance do goldstar conditions need? My

these units need to be cleaned every few years. so take it outside, get your garden hose; and clean the coils on both sides. front an back coils need to be clean. a coil cleaner should be used but good water presure should do fine. try not to get switches to wet. or cover them first. spray coils clean. let dry in the sun. tilt unit to get most water out then blow dry with a fan or just wait till its dry it will work like new after your done.good luck

THE AIR CONDITIONER LEAKS WATER FROM THE FRONT OF

Look for the drain line coming out of the unit typically in the bottom. Clear out this drain line with a vacuum or water hose. It should begin to drain and stop leaking.

If the leaking continues, you may have a cracked drain pan or severe drain blockage.

if it's weird like musty then clean the machine, coil, new filter or clean the washable filter and make sure it's draining well but if its weird as in burning wires have the machine checked before you use it again.

Installing a new ge air conditioner window unit

Hello, removing the interior styrofoamwas not a wrong thing to do.

The work of a interior Styrofoam is to prevent the air condition from getting damaged when drop with force on the flow when caring it. Air conditioners are fragile in other to prevent it from damage, they use the Styrofoam to prevent it.

So removing the Styrofoam was not wrong at all.

Hope you understand.

Take care.

My a/c shut off and won't turn back on.

Money can fix everything in life.

You can't get impatient with a/conditioners.

Put the a/c to cooling, make sure the set temp is below the indoor air temp(not just one degree either...way down) and give it 5 to 15 minutes.

There are anticycling devices (safeties on modern a/conditioners) that prevent them from burning up.

You'll never mentioned if you are in house or a commercial building(at work).Commercial building stats may be off ine on a built in timer.
