Hello, there is no way to lock the keypad like one would a cell phone to prevent the accidental pushing of buttons. However if you are listening to a transmission and you want to stop it on the frequency it is at so you don't miss any of the conversation simply push "man" (manual) on your keypad and it will remain on that frequency until you hit "scan" again. Once you hit "scan" it will begin to trunk. The "lock" button on your scanner is to lock the lights on so they don't shut off in **** a short time. Hope this helps.

Hit the scan button and it will come out of the weather band and start trunking again.

Hi, to clear all locked out channels, press the SRCH button, select the bank you want to clear, press the FUNC button, then press the L/OUT button, then press FUNC button,then 6, press 1 to clear all.

No. The PRO-97 can receive both standard and trunked analog signals, but it is not digital capable. Also, there are no add-on boards or circuit modifications that can enable digital operation.

Sorry, but your PRO-164 is an analog-only scanner. There's nothing you can do to or with it to receive and listen to digital transmissions. If digital systems are in use in your area you'll need a digital (APCO-25) equipped scanner to listen in to them.

There's no recovery feature, so you'll need to reprogram the scanner. Detailed instructions are in the factory manual which you can download and print, at no cost, here:

- Power the scanner OFF.
- Power the scanner ON. "Multi-system Trunking Scanner" will display.
- Press 0 (zero) while the above message is showing.
- Press 1 (one).
- Press ENT. "Initializing please stand by" will display for about 5 seconds.

When the process is complete "M 000" will appear on the top line of the display, and "Bank 0 Ch 00" will display on the third line.

NOTE: The above will delete/erase ALL information that you have programmed into the scanner and restore it to the original factory settings.
