Insignia NS-8PDVD Questions & Answers
Why is my portable dvd player is reading no disc when disc is in?
Over time the laser pickup becomes weaker until it is unable to read a disc. Try a dvd cleaning kit and follow instructions, or get a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and gently clean the lens, allow several minutes to dry. If this fails cheaper to replace the player.

Disc in system but it
I suggest to try with another disc. If that happens again, then try to clean lens with special disc. And if then won't help, then you'll need to change laser that reads discs. Usually it's not worth trying

Insignia NS-P8DVD not reading disc
Try a lens cleaner. Also, ensure that the disk you wish to play is clean and scratch free. Reset your player to factory defaults. If the problem persists, you may pursue service options through the place of purchase.

Insignia NS-8PDVD DVD player - shaking picture
Try to run a disc cleaner in it first then if that doesnt help you may have a non repairable condition as ther is no repair places for these things. You can also try a different DVD and see if that makes a difference, a store bought DVD just to confirm things arent working properly..

DVD player plays 10 minutes and then freezes screen.
You may have a problem with the transport of the dvd laser. Open the compartment that you place the dvd into. You will see the spindle, the laser lens and the transport device that moves it during operation. The transport system operates on system of gears and drive rails. You must check and clean the drive rails and gears. Use a can of compressed air and blow all the dust and debris from the dvd compartment. Then use some cotton swabs with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the tips and clean all the rails and gears. Check the transport action by moving the transport to its most outer position and back to its most inner position. The action and travel of the transport on the rails should be smooth and easy. The gears should be clean and move easy also. These parts will require cleaning every month or so . Remember do not touch the laser lens with your hand. You should also check the lens it should look bright and shine. If not try cleaning it with a cotton swab and a small amount of alcohol. Rub the lens gently back and forth unit it is bright and shines. Now you can try playing a dvd and see if the player works properly. If this does not fix you problem. You can reset the dvd player to the factory settings.1.Press the setup button on the remote control.2.Use the left and right arrows to highlight the preferences page.3.Press enter to to enter the preferences sub-menu.4.Use the up and down arrows to find the default function and press enter. You now have reset the dvd player to factory settings Now again play a dvd to see if the player is functioning normally. If not you may have a more serious problem with the drive motor or power supply circuits. you can call Insignia customer service support at this telephone number.1-877-467-4289. Give them the model number of you dvd player and tell them the problem you are having with the loss of operation during the playing of a dvd. They will be able to tell you how to get testing and service for you dvd player. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
